Why does the DC side have an extra chapter more then MK?

Just wondering, is it probably because MK's chapters are longer?

Can anyone confirm this? I found this list on www.fdmk.com, but I'm not sure if a mistake was made or not:

MK Chapters

Chapter 1: Liu Kang
Chapter 2: Sonya
Chapter 3: Jax
Chapter 4: Sub-Zero
Chapter 5: Scorpion
Chapter 6: Shang Tsung
Chapter 7: Raiden

DC Chapters

Chapter 1: The Flash
Chapter 2: Batman
Chapter 3: Wonder Woman
Chapter 4: Green Lantern
Chapter 5: Captain Marvel
Chapter 6: The Joker
Chapter 7: Lex Luthor
Chapter 8: Superman

If it is indeed only 7 chapters for MK, I'm more then happy they chose the characters well (yay for Sonya!), but I would had loved to see a Chapter for Catwoman in the DC side (sad).

It kind of sucks they didn't give all characters their own Chapters. The missing ones are:

* Kano
* Kitana
* Baraka
* Catwoman
* Deathstroke

+ Shao Kahn and Darkseid (but I guess this don't count for obvious reasons).

That's fucking bullshit. It's like, okay, not only does DC have to make MK tone the violence down, but they have to give DC an extra chapter? What the fuck?

Well, let's just remember that I'm not even sure if that list is true (like I said in the first post), and if it is, lets just hope the MK side is longer.

Deathbearer, can you stop fuckin complaining for one second its really getting old, seriously.

Coming from a person who played the game, its good and you dont have to worry about anything

in my opinion its the best MK game to date and I have only had it a day!

yeah that first guy that had the game mentioned that not everyone got their own chapter but he only specifically mentioned catwoman. i find it interesting that kitana and catwoman don't have their own chapters especially kitana since it looked like she would be pretty active in story mode.

Oh, so it is true?

Can you please tell us which side is longer or if its the same for both?

Also, do any of the characters who didn't get any chapters get decent amount of screen time? It's kind of obvious that the ones with chapters get more, but, do the others get a good amount or no?

You can't really judge if an MK game is the best in the series from only one day

The MK side does have one less chapter, but its okay, and everyone gets a descent amount of screentime. Kitana especially even though you dont actually play as her. I loved the story mode! I just finished it, I wont spoil anything but it is pretty good. Better than I thought it would be.

true you cant really judge it from one day , but i have already beaten the story mode and played alot of arcade mode, so I already have a good idea about what the game is about

I was really looking forward to playing Kitana's, Catwoman's, Deathstroke's, Sonya's, and Shang Tsung's chapters. Now I find out I'll only be getting about half of that?!

BULLSHIT. Sheer bullshit.

Oh but Captain Marvel and Lex Luthor get their own....

For all you Kitana Fans that are mad because she doesn't have a story mode: At least your favorite character is in the game... Mine (Smoke) isn't, and will never make it as DLC (because Smoke is behind Reptile, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Mileena, Cryrax, Ermac, and Hsu Hao [lol])

anyway kitana is interesting. it's like in every game she's very important to the main overall story but most of the time isn't playable.

i bet they're going to try and release bonus story chapters as DLC content or something.

You know, That would be FANTASTIC for DL characters such as Johnny Cage and Mileena!

Even though I don't see how they would manage to do something impressive and large and as polished as the main first story, I actually do see it working for all the DLC characters that are going to be added.

Have a separte story that ties to the first one showing this characters wherever they are now, doing stuff and solving things, also playing an important role in the other part of the "world".

That would so rock!!!

But......I don't think it will happen. It would be amazing if it did though.

Anyway, yeah, all characters should had gotten a chapter.

Not really a fair comparison. I like Smoke, would like to see him more, but he is not as important as Kitana.
As far as THIS particular piece of eye rolling non-canon bullshit goes, be happy and relieved that your favorite is not embarrassing himself with it.

it would be cool to have extra story chapters.

but having played through story some characters that didn't really get a chapter needed one. without spoiling anything i feel like we see catwoman constantly. no story mode. on the other hand kitana again without spoiling anything would only have two thus not needing one.

but you're going to love sonya in this.

I don't know exactly number of fights per chapter or anything, but it actually took me longer to complete the MK side than the dc side. Either way, the difference is negligible, both plots are just as involved and contrary to most reports, you spend as much time fighting MKvMK or DCvDC as MKvDC fights. If you haven't been spoilered already, take comfort in the knowledge that everyone plays a fairly noteworthy role, with the except of Deathstroke who pretty much just jobs to everyone (especially Joker).

and to whoever said it. I can say with certainty after one day that either

a) you're playing this game for aesthetic or superfluous appeal and its the worst mk in years.

or

b) you're playing this game for gameplay or competitive appeal and its the best mk in years.
