Why Human Smoke?
Why Human Smoke?
As far as I can remember, Human Smoke was pretty much an inferior version of Scorpion with fewer moves. I don't think he had Scorpion's forward teleport punch in UMK 3 or MK Trilogy, and his combos weren't as good. On the other hand, Cyber Smoke was a lean, mean, ass-kicking machine. He was fast and had good combos. Unless they give Human Smoke brand new moves that don't copy Scorpion, I say leave him out and just put Cyber Smoke in!

Pretty much what I would have said. This brings us back to the original "ninja" arguement. It's best to just take as he comes. Unless he's a hidden character or something, he'll have original moves.

By the way, is smoke now CONFIRMED to be in this? I'm not talking about makin an appearance in konquest, i mean, is he actually going to be in the game? (character selection screen, you can play as him and unlock him). Theres a pic of him, but its possible that it could be anything else, so if anyone knows, please tell me if hes in this now.
As for moves, i really want him to have the invisibilty move. It kicked some sorry ass, and i dont care if its cyborg or human smoke.

Smoke hasn't been confirmed yet. We're simply going off the Konquest picture in the PSM.

Fictional. They can add anything they want and ressurrect any character they want in any form.
They could have Liu Kang with Kano's eye if they want.

I like the human Smoke better, honestly I dont know why lol. But it is very obvious that if he came be he would have his own persona, moves, etc. If you think about it, MK6 is only short of two ninjas excluding the classic Sub-Zero to feature them all. Smoke and Rain, I mean I'm pretty sure Reptile will be in I think lol.

which, of course, isnt a good idea lol. I simply cant imagine kano being in liu kangs body, the idea of that gives me a migraine.
All i really want back is SMOKE! He's to bad ass to be left out of MK6, i hope they decide to add him in.

Doesnt want Human Smoke...Lin Kuie ninja with a Shinrai Scorpion move set. The biggest Pallette swap of em all (imo). But like a couple of post before mine, Robo-Smoke is the best of the robots. So bring Robo-Smoke with that MK:A movie look and its set!

In Mortal Kombat 2, Smoke and Noob Saibot were both pallette swaps of Scorpion. And in Mortal Kombat 3, Cyber Smoke was awesome! Invisibility, A big 3-pronged Harpoon shooting from the chest and a sweet Teleporting Uppercut. Not to mention that he looked 10x better then Sektor or Cyrax. Where Human Smoke in Mortal Kombat Trilogy was once again just a copy of Scorpion.
I'm all for Smoke comming back, It would be great for Sub-Zero's story-line for him to be included. But i'd want him to be a cyborg.

First off, Dark_Noob, if that idea gives you nightmares, then you wont be able to sleep for awhile. From what was said, MK6 takes place right after MKDA. So if Quan Chi's ending is correct we might see Lui Kang in Kano's body so get used to it.
Second, has any body noticed that every time a new ninja appeared in Mortal Kombat as a cameo or guest star always had Scorpion's moves. So it's unfair to say that the Human Smoke was cheap. The list goes back to Reptile in MK1.

Human Smoke is stupid like he said he was just a copy of scorpion, so what is everyone so hyped about. But on the other hand cyber smoke, thats a whole diff story, he was mad cool, if they bring back any cyborg it should be him. I really think though that Sektor is going to return because Noob is back just like Mk:te and Sektor was in Mk:te so.

I think it's safe to say that Both Shang Tsung and Quan Chi's endings weren't Canon.

Kano WONT be in liu kangs body, because quan chi's ending never happened. If it did happen, then that would mean that the deadly alliance won, which of course, they didnt. Its most likely that Kung lao finished off shang tsung, and kitana fought with quan chi, and from there we dont know what happened. But the deadly alliance in no more.
I'm still hoping for smoke to come back. He could have his own fresh new arsenal of special moves, and fighting styles.

Why don't we just leave out Reptile. He was just a copy of Scorpion and Subzero, right?

Well Reptile in MK1 did have Scorpion's moves, The spear and the teleport punch. But he also had Sub-Zero's ice blast and ground slide.

Yes, majority of the board knows that, but Smoke seems (I could be wrong) to have more fans then Reptile, so that makes Smoke the scape goat. But yet agian, I could be wrong. I just dont like Smoke at all..
Besides, Reptile's moveset changed when he was in MK2, and kept changing. When they bought Human Smoke in, he kept his moveset from MK2 (pretty much)

I just can't understand why people can't figure out something so simple. If Smoke is in MK:D, he'll have unique moves and appearance. There is no longer any excuse to keep him out of the game.
This whole "Scorpion rip-off" bullshit is not valid, and hasn't been for a long time. But people are still blind enough to think Boon would actually implement another gray ninja with a spear.

Noob saibot changed dramatically to. It doesnt matter if smoke HAD the same moves as scorpion in the PAST. I'm sure they will give smoke new movepools.
All the "ninjas" are basically going there own directions now.

Smoke was cheaply designed with palet swaping in both MKII and MK3, riding the coat tails of the ninjas and cyborgs. So that really doesn't influence which one I like more. I'd have to say my favorite version of him was when he was still human. He was there first and to have him become a cyborg just felt kind of cheap.
Judging by the PSM scans, it seems he's back in human form.

Lets face it, humans with awesome and unique skills are more interesting than cyborgs.

Well of course Boon and crew would re-design Smoke...move set and all.. there is no doubt in my mind that if Smoke was to return as a playable character, then he'd definatly return with his own moves and etc.

I'm glad you understand, but there are still many who don't.

TemeraryUserName, I see that Smoke is truley a touchy subject when it comes to you.
I wasn't trying to call Smoke a cheap character, I was just trying to express how much cooler Cyber Smoke is then Human Smoke.
