"Will be held 48 hours AFTER release"!!!??

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!
I went to my local EBGames on the 20th this month and "pre-ordered" the game (it's not actually pre-ordering, it's actualy preselling-- it's on the receipt... it basically confirms that you get one). I got the MORTL KMBT PP for the PS2. I was told at the time that the game is released , or able to buy (I hope), on the 5th. (BUT I will still check if they have it today, or tomorrow... ETC!)
Today I looked at my receipt... and it says at the bottom that "NEW RELEASE PRODUCTS WILL BE HELD FOR 48 HOURS AFTER RELEASE"!!! sad Does this mean that I will not be able to get Deception until the 7th?!?! sad confused Has anyone else noticed this?!
What does this mean (for us)... = sad ?

I'm not from the states, but I'm pretty sure it means they'll reserve your copy for up to 48 hours after the release date, then they give your copy away. Don't worry smile

it means that they will hold your reserved copy for up to 48 hours past its release date if you cant make it there on the 5th to pick it up. that way they wont accidentally sell it but if you slack and dont show up for a week, someone else wont miss out on it. youll get it on the 5th, have no fear.

but not be unfair, they have to seperate both, so dont worry youll get it.

It means that after the day they contant you to tell you it's available for pick up, they will hold it for 48 hours. If you fail to pick it up within the 2 days prior to the call, they will not hold it anymore.
Seriously, what else could it mean? They made it pretty obvious with their choice of words.

Yeah I preordered from EB and u got me all hyper, until I remember that they said they have 2 days to come and pick up the game before they charge u for shipping.

Hehehe, I have my PP paid off, and have for quite some time.
On the fourth, which is my natural day off of work, I'll be waiting outside of my local EB LONG before they even open the doors to get my copy the second they pull them out.
I even reserved the fifth off of work, too, so I could play it uninterrupted for nearly 48 hours. :P
I'm a total gaming whore.

I am insanely pissed. I just called EB over here (In Louisiana) and they said the game would be available WEDNESDAY.
Then because I believed that cunt's story... I decided to call Wal-Mart. SO... I called them, and they said it would be released on the 7th! WHAT THE FUCK?!?!
First I can't get married... and now this. Geez Louize. Someone slit my wrists for me.

whoa there man, don't need to go to extreme measures man. 7th of Oct ? it's just another week man, if i get this, it'll be 5 days after the initial release date. Now you think it's better to wait 3 days or 5 days more ? your call man. if you're slitting your wrist coz u're getting it 3 days later, i'll be literally cutting myself up.

Yer all wrong. you wont get the game until October 7th. Im the same way. I called EBGAMES and they confirmed this. They also said that they will only hold it for 1 hour after they call you. So this must mean the lady was telling the truth. I hate EB games and will never researve from there again. I HATE THEM!!!......
No just kidding, it just means they will only hold it 48hrs after they call then they will give to some other lonely Chum...
