Will Liu Kang have a SPLIT personality?

I am hoping that the two forms of Liu Kang are one character and that one is an alternate costume. I am also hoping that with him being in a spirit and a zombie form, that he'll have two different stories.

The spirit Kang will be good and the zombie Kang will be evil. even their movesets could be different. This will make him interesting and will leave us wondering which forms story they'll use.

But what if he has a split personality and shifts between the two forms and sets about different tasks. One minute he could be helping the Earth warriors as the spirit and then against them as the zombie! The confusion and chaos it would cause amongst the ranks of good and evil would be great!

I'm hoping that Zombie Liu Kang is just a corpse under the control of the DK and Spirit Kang is a new spectre like Scorpion.

Those stories would be interesting. Although what would the spectre Kang be doing? He'd probably be out to get Shang maybe.

As for Kang being under the DK's control, that would seriously damage the ranks of Earth, especially if no one could stand up to him.

Hey that is a nice idea, maybe Liu Kang is just one character who changes in that yin/yang stage. If the stage is light he will be in spirit form and when the stage turns into the evil side Liu Kang will change into his zombie form. He could have two forms made especially for that stage.

Awesome idea.

I alwyas thought an evil Liu would be awesome, but its even better if its a good/bad liu.

I think I will FINALLY love to play with Liu Kang.

I like the zombie thing.

Second I love the Yin/Yang idea for Liu it would be cool.

Great idea. What is better than fighting against Earth's warrious against a former ally and one of the best fighters of all time of Earth? This would make for a interesting plot

Hmm, techically a soul has to be in a body for it to work i think. If the DK was controlling zombie liu, he wouldn't be as lethal as spirit liu kang since his soul is in the spirit form and not in his body. The spirit would be the real liu while the zombie is either being controled by DK and would only be doing what he wanted. Or a new soul could have been put in his body. I dunno, why is the game so far away.

Thanks tgrant, queve and TomTaz. You know that yin/yang, good/evil thing would also work for some other characters. Scorpion is the best example I can think of, if the stage is light/good then scorpion would be normal (a ninja). And when the stage turns dark/evil he would change and you can see he is a spectre, kinda like that Pirates of the Caribbean effect when they hit the moonlight.

It would be snazzy if Liu Kang's spirit could possess
his enemy and make him/her beat the krap outta
themselves!
Maybe even possess a statue in the arena and make
it come to life (a bit like reptile in the movie).

I do think that if Liu Kang has 2 forms, his spirit would
be good and his body evil, as he is the spirit and is no
longer in control of his corpse.

I think Kung Lao could stand up to him. I also believe he will be the reigning champ in MKD - unless its Sub Zero (who is another that may be able to match Kang if he is evil)

Maybe Liu's story will be that he's set out to destroy his alter ego... spirit has to kill the body, and vice versa

i am still hoping that skab is liu kangs body and an oni controlled by the dragon king. but others have said that zombie and spirit are just two alternate costumes. thats just really weird for me, i mean, i picture a spirit form to be energetic like how liu kang should be, and a zombie form to be more sluggish - possibly using more powerful moves to fight.

maybe the spirit of liu kang is trying to stop the zombie liu kang. i dunno why but i dont like the idea of the switching li kang it sounds me a lot like an idea from snk or capcom

I hope looks ugly, rotten, green and with many many worms coming out of places I cant type here.

yeah, maybe zombie liu kang could be the corpse of liu kang reanimated by the DK's awesome power, and be a powerful unit under his control to fight against the earth's forces, and they could be hesitant on attacking him cause it is liu kang's body, and they dont want to hurt him, so it gives the DK an edge, but later on in the story, the spirit of liu kang, could find his way back to earth's forces or maybe raiden? through portals, and tell them what has happened to his corpse, and with him helping the earth's forces, they finally stop fearing hurting liu kang's corpse, cause it is no longer liu kang, just another mindless zombie of the DK! thats all i could come up with so far...tongue
