Weren't all of them tournaments of some kind?

As much as I would have liked it to be a tournament, I doubt it will be. I doubt the elder gods will hold a tournament to decide Earth's fate. I think it's gonna be the DK on a rampage of destruction and death.

Story wise, I consider MK3 and UMK3 the same. Same goes for MK4 and MKG. But wasn't MK3 a tournament to decide Earth's fate at the hands of Shao Kahn? And MK4 the same, but Shinnok, not Kahn. MKT, though, was a culmination of the first three games. It combined the stories of the first three.

Yes your right error marcro, thats why I wrote techniqually speaking, I just hope someone would pick up on that, good job. It did start out as ano official tournament, but Shao Khan broke many rules in mk3, then it turned into a full blown war. Remember, he didnt need to defeat one person to win earth, all he had to do was reserect his queen on earth, thus defieng all portal transformation rules and therefore he could step into eartha and claim it as his possesion.

I want mk6 to be an all out war, like armaggedon if the good guys loose. the story should tackle the idea of politics deception greed sacrifice and all the good things that make movies win academy awards.

I would like to see it as a full scale war.
I would also like to see oni form an alliance with themselves and compete, to make more competition if you get me.
I also would like to see if it came to a war to see what side Scorpion would chose as he is a nutural.

this has bothered me for quite a while... it has not been a tournament style since the first few mortal kombats and I really believe they should bring it back. but it seems that it won't be the case cosidering the dragon king's story and the way things have gone from bad to worse after each game.

i really think they should end the 'more powerful' enemy that comes after each game and just finish it. i mean, things have gone out of hand and it seems to coincidental that all these things happened in one generation. maybe they should move to the next generation since MK is held "once every generation"? and through this bring back the tournament style as it should be.
