A third movie? Another really bad cartoon series? More action figures? T-shirts? Strange people on the street shouting "Finish Him" and "Get Over Here!"? Well, what do you think? Fatality.

No. That's what I think. Maybe action figures, but nothing like cartoons and shit.

Also, a third movie has been confirmed for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. Even actors and stuff have been announced.

After reading Wanderer's thread, I doubt it.

I think there could be action figures once the movie comes out and T-Shirts of course. But not people really going over board with it.

So for the most part yes, but that's not to say that the fad will do good. I think the 3rd movie might be a flop and then the action figures and whatever else will not sell.

There will never be another MK craze, or at least not like it was in the 90s. Mainstream gaming choices have changed, and unless Deception turns out to be just amazing, it'll be buried under more popular games. Not that it won't be successful, just not to the extent that Midway and the MK fans hope for.

Plus, it's release date is pretty bad. Younger fans will be gearing up for the ever-busy holiday season, and may just be content to wait. Older gamers may already be saving up cash for the same. A more popular franchise like GTA, Final Fantasy, or Metal Gear wouldn't have anything to worry about, but MK isn't exactly at the forefront of gaming , which was kinda the point of this thread, wasn't it?

Hun, when did the craze ever die? If it ever did, we wouldn't be here. We are hardly die-hards. MK is still the cult game that it was, and always will be. Everything it has touched has the cult status, and we are no different.

although I would love one, btu lets face it without the arcades it wot. That is what started the craze straight up. No one can argue that point. I do also believe there wil be certain things(figures, posters, shirts etc), but it wont mak tv shows and all that.

It's going to be online, so it might be more popular than when it was in the arcades, since online is like a much cheaper version of the arcade, right? Well, you do have to buy the game, and buy the system, and buy the adapters, and pay for internet, and then there's the online fees... ah, never mind. grin Fatality.

Well I doubt it will be 1995 again. As a few others have already said, the arcades actualy started the MK craze, and since they're dead now i doubt MK mania will reach the the level it was at in the mid 90's. Remeber when MK1 was released, nothing had really been seen like it before, with all the blood and gore. Those things made it very popular for the time, and since MKD wont be such a shock to the public as MK1 was I doubt it will create as much media attention. Dont get me wrong, it will get attention from concerned mothers groups etc, but not in the way MK1 did. The movie's release will probably spawn action figures and mk clothes, but not to the extent as previous MK's. The public has become desensitized so the hype surrounding it will be less, no MK:DOTR 2 I'm afraidgrin
