Will We See Fan-Named Character Hornbuckle in MK8 or Later?

Im not necessarily a god in terms of knowlage about this character. But from what I gather, this character has no official name.

He can be seen standing opposed to blaze in the background of "The Pit II" in MK2. From my observations, it would seem he is a palatte swap (spelling) of liu kang and has been changed to green.

With the explenation of Blaze's story and past becoming more evident with MK unchained, MKD konquest, and MKA. It would seem that Blaze has been in trouble and was placed to guard the dragon egg in which onaga was reborn if I am correct.

If this is true, and Blaze was forced, could this have been by "Hornbuckle"? was He, along with some others working for a greater power(perhaps Shao Kahn)?

Come MK8, givin what this would be character has done in the past, I see it a nice opportunity to bring in a new character. One having both new qualities, story and moveset, but also being tied to the past and an easy "power" character instead of a novice fighting for a goal. This could develope into a power struggle and could produce a very worthy "bad/dark/deceitful" character, almost along the lines of quan chi in aura.

Thaughts? am I wrong about anything? Please correct me. I'm pretty sick and was thinking about it at the hospital.

It could have a cool role in mk8 if they played their cards right imo. Although, i think they should get rid of the liu kang look alike, and give that character life and story.

Well one of the most thing I love in the series is that it has many things that the fan made such as Ermac

I don't see why he shouldn't be a part of MK8. They are introducing fresh characters after all, and Hornbuckle does have a backstory. Blaze's story says that he was confronted and captured by the Dragon King's holymen. So this "palette swap" was probably the one who enslaved Blaze with the enchantment mentioned.

Hornbuckle was named for a clue that popped up before fights: "Hornbuckle who" ? This clue was a refference to Leanne Hornbuckle, a member of Midway's team.

Here's my idea: APEP HORNBUCKLE. Hornbuckle is a last name, after all. Apep first made his appearance at the same time as Onaga did in MKD konquest. The name Apep comes from Egyptian mythology where he was a demon. Apep translates to "Malicious Serpent Beast. I think a good backstory could include Onaga recruiting Apep (Hornbuckle).

Maybe Hornbuckle could be one of the new "Central Characters" in MK8. Since they are starting fresh and everything, maybe he could be the new Shang or the new Kano, so to speak.

In my personal fan writings of my ideal Mortal Kombat 8, Hornbuckle became an Earthrealm warrior by the name "Ming Bao." A Shaolin monk character that has a bit more edge to him. In my concept, he defeated Blaze in a little bout they had, but did not kill him. Bao walked off, and then the holy men of Onaga came and imprisoned him, as he was weakened.

This wouldn't really have too much relevance in the future games, but it's just a little trivial origin of him.

I'm thinking now that he could turn into Chow Kang, seeing as Liu's brother has always been "missing." I guess there were plans to bring him the other Kang at some point during the early games, but they never got around to it. Maybe now is the time, and he can take over from his now at rest brother?
