With MKD looking stellar, who will still play MK Kompilations?

Personally, it will be difficult for me to play any of the older games, MK Gold included, because I've been playing MKDA for over a year now and I'm used to the new fighting system and the look of the game. I remember way back when MK 3 came out and how strange it felt to play MK 1 or MK 2 because they just seemed so slow after the run button was added in MK 3. Even though I've been with this series since MK 1 hit arcades in 1992, and all MK games will always have a special place in my little black heart, I think I need to just focus on MKD and future games and leave the past titles behind.

Also, since a lot of fighters from MK 2 and MK 3 seem to be returning, I don't think it will be that difficult to not play the oldies.

Please let me know how you all think about this subject! Thanks!

exactly. Every system got gipped on MK1. The genesis version was just terrible unless you had the 6 button controller, and even still the graphics were not as good as SNES, but it had the blood code (thank the lord because the fatals before that were rediculous)

The SNES version I found more fun to play while fighting, even without the blood, and the fatalites were still pretty interesting without the blood as well, but Sega won int he fatal department after the blood code. I woulld love to see original graphics though and fatals.

I would actually choose orginal graphics over updated graphics.

MK2 - best game on earth possibly IMO and i would love to have the arcade quality game at home, I could own as Reptile once again in style this time thanks to better graphics. Plus, we would get the extra scene in the pit II where you see the side view of the character falling, and then the top view (where was that in MKT anyway?).

MK3, was a lot of fun in the Arcade, but only moderately at home. Blood seemed lessened until MKT, and the graphics just seemed off a bit, even though the arcade looked greeat. I'd like to see the PSX version of MKT instead of 3, just because of all the characters.
The only MK I seek is MKGold.. which I hesitate to go out and pick up a Dreamcast for..

For the rest.. well MK Trilogy on Playstation and a little program called Mame32. wink

Remember, the next Midway compilation will include MK 1 to 3. And since its on PS2, I think its safe to say they will be arcade perfect. And yes, even after all this time I will still play them. Classics dont go away easily.

Lui Kang was a good start. Sonya would be a good next choice.

It would put me one step closer to retiring my SNES and I would love to get myself down to two systems.

Just 1, 2 and 3? I was hoping it'd be 1, 2, Trilogy and Gold.

I'd still buy it though, 'cause I still get the urge to play the older MK games now and then but I can't because I can't find my SNES.
