IMO it would have been easier to pull off increasing the MK characters' powers than to have to try and explain weakening superheroes/villians' powers. If Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman are just as powerful as Superman how are they going to "weaken" CM and WW like they plan to do with Supes? Marvel is invulnerable to magic and I believe Wonder Woman is somewhat too because of her "truth" lasso. Thoughts?

no cause Batman would get his ass kicked by everyone.
Just weaken, Superman, Wonder Woman and Marvel.

I can somewhat see that, but Batman is pretty much almost super genius. He would find a way to take an MK character out. Superman has said that he knows that Batman could kill him if he wanted to.

Batman also has a kryptonite ring that Superman wants him to kill himself with if he were ever to turn evil.

It'd be easier just to weaken Marvel, Supes, and WW.

It's a lot harder to deal with the canyon between characters of mortal strength, and immortal alien powerhouses; let alone properly representing the super sonic speeds and fantastic powers these characters have.
You're already confining them to the mechanics of a video game, so it's much easier to push everyone into that conceit, rather than trying to level a bunch of characters up to godly levels. Elevating characters to something they explicitly aren't is also more insulting than paring a few down.
Magic as an element in superhero stories seems to cause a lot of undue confusion, too. Unfortunately the misconception has perpetuated some sense of official recognition, but at the end of the day, none of these characters are "vulnerable" or "invulnerable" to magic.
As a device magic usually isn't a black and white factor, which is why it's even an issue.
Most of these characters (Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel) get their strength from the conceit of a rigid set of rules. Superman's strength is defined by the value that says he is more powerful and impervious to a catalogue of existing elements. It's pseudo-science.
Magic is defined by breaking conventional rules and logics.
Superman can bend steel, but there's nothing to describe a resistance to being turned into a giant bunny. It's less a weakness, and more an oversight.
At the end of the day, it's just a matter of acknowledging the logics.

Yeah but MK characters are also less invincible.
Off topic but, whoa, a lot of closed threads on this page.
But getting back, I never really said anything in the earlier post. Basically, they toned down DC (Superman only) but still, MK characters don't need to boast up thier powers to try to outmatch DC characters. That's basically pointless.

Pretty much the merge will be the reason for balance between MK and DC. Should be interesting
