I'm assuming a lot like the Armaggeddon opener, where they are running towards each other, except, instead of a bright desert, a dark valley of sorts.

For anyone to be dazzled by this game's opening, they would have to REALLY get over the fact that there are superheroes in MK. Given everyone did just that, I think the MK Team have everything they need to make a really great opening. It's next-gen, after all, and nothing like a photorealistic mini-movie introducing the characters and ... ahem... "storyline"... to get everyone pumped to play it.

they should just do an opening akin to Tekken and Soul Calibur. One that just showcases a good range of the fighters individually in a 1-2 minuite vid. I think those vids are badaass.

Your going to see some mk characters walking on pit I stage and looking at the moon saying "look its la luna...no its's santa clause...no its SUPERMAN and look to your right its the bat signal....we are in some deep trouble...by the way I thought these guys were in comics? "

I have thought about this but didnt want to put up a thread about it, Im thinking this, it will show whomever beat blaze and his destruction was so severe it sent ripples thru the realms and this may be a lil far fetched but opened a portal to the DC world and hence thats how MK met DC sorry i could go into more detail but thats the just of it.

y'know that's a good point... since deadly alliance the intros to the mk games are probably the only thing no one has really bitched about.

I truly hope its NOTHING like the one of MK: Armageddon....please, lets not even remember that "game" abomination in this thread.

I would love the intro vid to be the obvious: beautiful, exciting, stunning and interesting. And to do this, I really hope they don’t just show a FEW selected characters fighting randomly, no, I really hope we get to see a STORYLINE developed in the intro, something that tells us what the hell is going on, and yes, a good preview of ALL the characters if possible.

I would've definitely thought we'd expect something more about establishing the situation. Characters like Raiden and Phantom Stranger, or whatever else is being used to explain/observe the situation. Something more like the intro for MKDA/MKD, than MKA...

I would think think that's the best way to go and what they will most likely do. They'll have some sort of action scene in there though so it's not all narration. It should look pretty spectacular whatever it is.

Didn't Boon tell us they're releasing a video that explains all the missing gaps in the storyline, and it will inform us of what happened to who prior to the events of Armageddon?


I'm thinking the opening should be 2-3 minutes long, and then each character has their own mini bio video that goes along with a text bio (same with endings) ... probably something that goes with the storyline mode of the game as you get closer and closer to the boss.

Some fan's like to watch what happens, others like to read what happens. Why not combine the both to make a really cool story telling experience? They don't have to make an exepsnive CGI movie; they could just make scripted scenes that are in-game animations and such.

I'd expect the whole realm-merging thing to happen, and it'll probably show Raiden rallying the MK forces, and Superman rallying the DC forces for a huge battle.

I don't see the opening for this game being anything like the past two MK games...

In fact I see the opposite, like someone else mentioned a dark valley or perhaps I see different scenes taking place in different places within the MK/DC universe, example kind of like the way the first MK movie was done fight after fight in different places...

Same concept here, say have Batman stalk Sub-Zero in a dark alley in Gotham...next scene have Superman and perhaps Raiden dueling in Metropolis somewhere, next clip Kahn and Darkseid in Outworld....

etc, etc I can see something really cool like this happening honestly.

The opening will be the best part of the game.
Just like it was for Armageddon.
