Y hate Lui Kang?..

if... u guys love bruce lee n enjoy his movies then u should definitly love lui kang!! sure lui looks small n puney..and im sure ppl would say that about bruce if they saw him for the first time..but trust me he'll still kick all ur asses in 10000000 ways....i was disappointed when they killed lui off in mk:da...i guess the mk crew read how u guys hated him so much here ..even though now hes comin back as a ....ghost/zombie im still disappointed but watever its a start...
to me lui is the guy who balances out all the other fighters..just picture fighting as bruce lee in mk:d thats how lui kang would be like...
so y hate him??? is it cuz his voice??? lol...hes one of the only fighters in mk who has his own voice.. its the same voice as bruce lee so y complain about that??(if u a bruce fan)

anyway.. so tell me sum reasons y u hate him..
man lui fans u guys have to speak up!!!

I personally love Liu Kang. Always have.

What's to hate about a guy who can turn into a dragon and eat his opponent whenever he wants? :p

Since Liu Kang is coming back, I think it's time for a lil overhaul. Base his fighting styles off of those of Jet Li. I'm sorry, the man is the shit! He could kick anyone's ass! It's time to turn Liu into a real ass kicker.

I never liked Bruce Lee or his movies so that might be why I never liked Liu Kang. In fact, I like to laugh and sip ice water as Shang Tsung kills him. tongue

In all honesty though, the guy annoys me. Between his turkey mating call and bland move set there's nothing that would ever make me like Liu Kang really UNLESS they do something really cool with him in Deception.

The only thing I hated abut Kang was his "turkey mateing call" as The_Truth put it. Espically when he did his bike kick. If you played DOA as Jan Lee he also was a Bruce Lee clone, but at least when he said whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! It was strong and impactful, not like Lui Kang gobble. I like Lui but I was happy that he was dead for at least one game. It was such a relaxing time.

Well look at it this way: a lot of people hated Jarek, because he was a rip-off of Kano. They may have still liked Kano, but they didn't like Jarek because he was unoriginal. Likewise, people who see Liu Kang as nothing more than a Bruce Lee rip-off dislike him for his lack of originality. Then, of course, there's the turkey noises...

I never loved or hated Liu Kang. I just accepted him as like a "chosen one," kinda like Neo in the Matrix. I didn't know he was based on Bruce Lee till maybe a year ago...but then I barely knew who Bruce Lee was until about a year ago.

But I find the ghost/zombie thing to be pretty stupid. I mean, zombies are slow, clumsy, and eat brains. Liu Kang should be fast, precise, and eat...something other than brains. And a ghost? I dunno, that just seems stupid.

I never liked or hated Liu Kang, but he did irritate me.
He goofy voice never bothered me, but I thought his moves were cheap. He had his flying kick and three fireballs which were all way too easy to execute and the CPU Liu Kang was just a bitch.
His fatalities, with the exception of his Dragon ones from MK2 and 4, were bad. The uppercut was decent, but in MK3, turning into fire and making a MK machine fall from the sky were just retarded.
On top of all this, he's boring character. I don't see anything cool or bad ass about him. Typical goody goody hero boyscout.
Another thing, he's easily replacable as the "chosen hero." Kung Lao is more fun to use, more interesting, and much cooler than Liu Kang ever was.
And finally, until MK:D comes out and we know for certain, he's yet another cheap resurrection.
