it's still 9/10, and people were bombarded with information for 4 months on the subject, it's lost it's impact, people have long since taken their american flags from their cars... I find the sense of patriotism sad, when as something like 'celebrity outtakes uncensored' is what people will remember 3 years from now...

No, at first he had 11/09/2001 which is the wrong format (I dont care what country you're from, day-month-year is the wrong format) lol

I'll explain exactly why that format is WRONG and not just "different". How many 15th's are there in a year? 12. How many month 9's are there in a year? 1. When you write it 11-9-04...if you only look at the 11 it's ambiguous, it could be the 11th day of any month. I know I know you can just look to the second number....but it's just wrong. When you start with the month you are explicitly naming which 15th you are referring to on the next one. Do you all get it?

It isn't a wrong format, it's just a different format. In Spanish dd/mm/yyyy is correct. Although, here in Puerto Rico the format dd/mm/yyyy is as correct as mm/dd/yyyy .

What is IGNORANT about that is the fact that you've been raised to thinking that just because the method you learned to do this is the correct way... Hmmm... How do you feel about the Metric system?

Most countries other than the US use dd/mm/yyyy.
The reason being....smaller units of time to greater units of time. days, months years. Simple and more logical.
after reading another post, edit: oh, and it's(11/09/2001) read... 11th day of the 9th month and 2001st year. Just as simple as our way in USA.

I saw a documentary of Sept. 11th today it was very sad & scary at the same time... but it was mostly very sad.

I learned from the documentary that some people with disabilities couldn't escape.

Well, to somewhat get back on subject.

It seems as though the airlines have changed their routes today because all day long planes have been flying pretty low and right over my neighborhood (something that rarly ever happens around here). The odd thing though, is there are some oil tanks no more than 100 yards from my house, which to me seems quite foolish to fly over. I highly doubt they'll be an attack though.

quite frakley, I think people should move on. We have lives to live, places to go, and people to see. Im happy the was Bush has taken terrosim so seriously. But in the grand scheme of things the past is past and we have the future to look foward to. Cherrish the memories of (loved) ones lost, remember the feelings, and live life again.

Anyway, the subject. WOW. Can't believe it's been three years. I was in the 8th grade, I walked into my first period American history class, the teacher had the television on(we had tv's in all the rooms with cable), and the WTC was smoking. I asked a girl what was up, and she told me a plane crashed into the WTC.

I thought nothing at first of it. An accident probably. Well, and then I saw the fucking second plane hit live. A girl in back of class was freaking out, she screamed and everything. It was a weird feeling that day. Half the school almost left early. I remember, that night me and my dad were sitting around watching it on the Television, and they showed footage of a person jumping out of a window to their death...it was a defining moment I guess.

I will always see 9/11 connected with personal events in my life. My mother had left my father that summer(it turned out to be for good too), and me and my dad moved away from the town I'd lived in since like age 3, to over 200 miles away. We lived in an apartment together(I hadn't lived in the city since i was 3 so i didnt remember it, and i'd never lived in an apartment). Me and my dad had been distant for a couple of years, we got to know eachother again.

That time was a time of change in my life. And 9/11, well it was a big change. That event happening at that time in my life, was very defining. My personal life was undergoing immense change, and so it seemed, was the world as well.

Wow, 3 years ago, time flies so fast, I was in my sophomore year, I remember I was sleeping on my floor, and woke up to a TV that showed one of the burning towers, about 10 seconds after I woke up, I saw the second plane hit, but now Im over it, as should all Americans, as hard as it may seem.
