A Question About Playstation Online

I own a PS2, and would really love to play MK Deception online when it comes out. I missed most of the info about the online portion of the PS2. I was wondering if you HAVE to have AT&T Broadband, or if your current ISP service will suffice. Right now I have 512 DSL. Thanks for your help.

Yes PS2 online service supports both dial up and broadband. But MK:Deception is broadband only.

Well that sucks for me then. I live in an area where I can't get broadband. Just dial-up, or DSL. In fact I'll show you just how back-woods it is here where I live. For my 512 DSL internet I pay $99.95 a month!!! Talk about a rip-off. We only have one company who serves our little town, so if you want internet you gotta pay their crazy price.

I believe broadband is considered either cable or DSL, so you should be fine. Xbox is broadband only, and I'm pretty sure it supports both cable, and DSL. I've heard of people using DSL for Xbox so I assume it would work for PS2 as broadband.

It really sucks Shoe...I know. My wife and I use the internet alot, and I refuse to ever go back to dial-up. So basically I just try to forget about the price, and enjoy the internet they provide. I could get 256 DSL for $49.99 a month here. I may do that shortly because my wife and I are buying our first home, and pennies will be tight for awhile. The closing is set right now for August 15th.

You really don't want to play MKD online with 56k, anyways. It would suck ass, massive ass. Not the good kind of massive ass, too. The nasty, pimply, need to wipe kind of ass.
Most people wouldn't play you if you're on 56, too. You can compensate the lag with FPS's to a point, but not with fighters.
