^ @ Icebaby: What people forget is that your kid is not meant to be your pal. Something I once heard and which has stuck with me (don't have my own kids just yet but I will definitley keep this in mind) is that you should not aim to raise a kid who YOU like, but a kid who everyone likes.
Everyone enjoys a kid who is polite, knows his place and is respectfull to elders.

@ Espio: I was talking in general. My point was that the fact that a game set off the arguement between the two should not become the focus of why it happened. Sure if they were playing and after losing the guy storms over to the kid's place...then blame the game and call the guy an absolute pscho. But I have some sympathy for him if the kid was severely abusive. Both my parents and girlfriend are teachers and if I had to put up with the crap they get from some kids I would want to throttle some of them too (I won't because I have more self-control than our specimen in this story but that is just by-the-by).
Also,as someone who is probably a little older than the average user on here I have to sat that I can 100% see that this generation (I am talkin about u/13 years here) is MUCH MUCH less mannered than mine was. Just talking basic manners here. Basic example; My days...Go to restaurant. Parents tell you to sit down, behave and finish your food. You did that. Now...Go to restaurant, kids running around shouting, parents do nothing, kids run into you and don't even apologise. In fact I am normally genuinley surprised if a kid stops to let an adult walk first or apologises for running into them these days.
Also: Shit, I sound old
I'm actually still about 19 at heart.

Not that I am trying to defend what the guy did, cause thats a little extreme. But, why was this 13 year old kid playing a mature game in the first place? Secondly, the parent of the child does have a responsibility to make sure he isn't provoking an adult like that, online or in real life. Yes, its a game, and as an adult, you should just let it go, cause the kid is just being a brat and trying to start shit. But nevertheless, both parties here are at fault, and in some crazy way, this should teach the kid not to talk like that to anyone again. I'm not defending either side though.
