Samurai Champloo, if you're looking for completely real(istic).

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is very deep, set in a sci fi future where the line between man/machine is blurred, and questionable.

Dragon Ball. Kung Fu lazerz. Fighting space monkeys. EPIC

Gundam Wing/Endless Waltz, explores the truth of conflict, like most Gundam series. Zeta explores the horrors of war, and 0083:Stardust, explores Nuclear war, but I've yet to see these series. The Original Gundam 0079, 8th MS Team & War in the Pocket are great.

InuYasha is set in Feudal Era Japan, and features demons n other supernatural elements of Japanese culture.

Basilisk, is based on the final contest imposed on the Koga & Iga clans of Japan by the Daimyo to end their 400 year feud. It involves supernatural elements. Graphic

Outlaw Star set in space with some supernatural elements.

Zoids: New Century/0mecha are animals/dinosaurs, like Power Ranger's Zords, but piloted by civilians who compete in team battles.

Princess Mononoke EPIC tale about Man's ignorance towards nature

Ninja Scroll Dark, supernatural, graphic

Naruto, Bleach & Death Note are alright

I havent seen any anime in years. I used to love it.
Trying to remember. I've tried various anime, but not everything is great or to my taste. Some are girly or just weird ass. Anime is more than cartoons, there are as many genres as filmed TV series.
Sailor Moon, Samurai Pizza Cats, Astro Boy, Trinity Blood, Trigun, Witch Hunter Robin, Dual!, Get Backers, Eureka Seven, Geobreeders, Yu Gi Oh!
Trying to remember them all, I know I'm forgetting shit.

Let's see:
-Terrible animation. Beginning of computer animation of anime I know but the reuse of so many animation bits is so overwhelming that it's completely distracting

-Terrible bastardization of the original MSG. I love the Gundam franchise. The original and Zeta Gundam are my two favorite Gundams and although I know good and well that Gundam recycles tropes from its own franchise all the time, this one takes the original premise and fills it with sodding, annoying pricks for characters. Not a likable person in that entire show outside of Slegger Law, I mean Mu La Flaga

-The overuse of flashbacks. This show abuses flashbacks like no tomorrow. Hey an event happened just 5 minutes ago, we're gonna flashback to it, just in case you forgot. The death of one certain character halfway through the show had the next episode flashback to that death about 8 times in the span of a 23 minute episode. That is terrible filler and takes me out of the show.

-As a fan of mecha anime, not a fan of the overall suits. They all look just junky and bland, outside of the Gundams, can't really recall any of the suit designs like I can MSG, Zeta, ZZ, G, etc.

Those are just a few short points on why I don't enjoy it at all. It's a slog to watch. And although I love my Universal Century Gundam, I do also enjoy several Alternate Universe Gundams. I'd highly recommend G Gundam, Turn A and After War X for great AU Gundam shows. Everything since Turn A has been terrible. That includes the newest Gundam AGE.
