[Polygon] reached out to Lebert, who told us: "I am indeed in the midst of writing project Arklay. We're in early stages of said development. I'm currently in negotiations with Mance Media. I cannot reveal anymore story at this time."
Coupled with the Resident Evil remake HD re-release, feels like a welcome return of the atmosphere the series was built on.

I can't see this being a long running series. For one, I have no faith in being good. And the fact that between the outbreak in Raccoon City and the nuke going off, it was a matter of days, if not hours.

Finally. If Capcom screws this franchise up any further....

After the action movie excesses of the Jovovich vehicles - can an atmospheric, procedural journey into Raccoon City really be a bad thing? I don't expect this to be REII on my TV screen, but there's optimism to be had about the direction it takes the live-action brand in.

Hopefully this is more like the survival horror genre then the action paced resident evil films.
Maybe see tyrants, lickers, spiders, snakes, much much more. I think the Stain is a good example of the type of horror I'd like for this show. Were everything goes to shit.

- Constantin to Produce TV Series Based on ‘Mortal Instruments,’ ‘Resident Evil’ Franchises
CANNES — Leading German production house Constantin Film is stepping up its TV series business with TV series spin-offs of the “Mortal Instruments” and “Resident Evil” movies.
Constantin exec board chairman Martin Moszkowicz confirmed the news at a launch for another Constantin high-end TV series, “Shades of Guilt,” at Mipcom TV market in Cannes Sunday.
Constantin has been involved in TV production for many years, and half of its activities is in TV, Moszkowicz said, but the company’s strategic goal was to shift more toward television. “We are increasing our TV activities substantially both in Germany and internationally,” he said. Fiction series would be the focus of the growth, he added.
He said that around two years ago the company had started to develop various international TV drama series, some of them English-language. “We are moving rapidly,” Moszkowicz said.
Some of Constantin's productions are English language. Woo hoo!
I don't know what this means for Arklay. Probably nothing good.

I'm very interested in this I take it that S.T.A.R.S will be included as along with R.C.P.D. Also maybe we might get some cameos from our favorite Resident Evil cast members? Time will tell.

The question is, why?
The series stopped being serious with RE4. I would be more interested in seeing clowns vs zombies duking it out. RE is over.

RE isn't over, it just needs to cut out all of the unnecessary stuff that RE5 & RE6 loaded it down with, it just needs to fully return to it's roots.

And you still have the dialoguye and story written by a clipper-handed freak manchild that grew up on Night of the Living Dead, while being simultaneously deaf and mute.
No sorry, Resident Evil never had a good plot or story aside the first two. And the second one was already balancing on the razor's edge.
