Man... I was watching day of the dead yesterday and found it more funny then scary... I also saw route 666 with Lou Diamond Phillips which was very dramatic... with the dad 'n all... But I seem to love Zombie movies... I honestly am terrified by zombies since I have agoraphobia, but I love watching 'em I love resident evil both the movies and the games I don't care how different they are. The game makes me feel hopeless but the movie keeps me entertained...

28 Days later is a step in the right direction along with dawn of the dead... although I'm not too sure how DotD zombies came to be 28DL has a solid story, which is awesome since both movies showcase zombies that sprint like crazy!!!

Evil dead sadly is one I haven't seen but I have seen the sequel when ash goes back in time... it's pretty funny... enough rambling... what ZOMBIE movies do you guys enjo and what made them great?

I've seen dead alive! it's from Austrailia I think, when the zombies are loose in the house one guy gets his ribcage pulled out while he's alive, a woman has an organ (don't know which) ripped out of her stomach. It's not scary though, move funny. Is Day of the Dead the one in the mall? If it is, that's a good movie. The 1st of the trilogy, Night of the Living dead is the best. The black & white screen adds to the movie, it isn't scary, but has an errie feel throughout. Don't bother with the remake('91), go for original from the 60's - they have a black guy as the lead, somethin uncommon of the times, and he does a good job in his part. Definately worth watching.

-Too bad you haven't seen the Evil Dead series, it's great, Ash is hilarious as the series goes on. Each movie is better than the last and even though'Army of Darkness' is the best, the others are more scary/evil, Bruce Campbell is great in his role in all 3.

Finaly, I really like Resident Evil. It's not a favorite of everyone, but I thought it was good. It's cool how the staff and Umbrella team die, and the resulting chaos.

There are many zombie films, I know of one from Italy from the 70's where a zombie holds down a person and sloooowwwwwly stabs him through the eye with a needle-like object. There's another obscure one where sharks have been converted to zombies and eat humans, so look at your local video store (not blockbuster!) and theres a ton of good unknown ones.

I know there are those out there who claim that the 'monsters' in "28 Days Later" AREN'T zombies, but I do, and it's the best zombie flick I've seen in YEARS.

I'd suggest flicks like the B&W "Night of The Living Dead", "Return of The Living Dead", and any of the old ones. They rarely make these movies like they used to.

For those of you who want absolutely hilarious crap, look up a movie called Bad Taste. It's Peter Jackson's - yes, THAT Peter Jackson, King of the Rings - first film. Zombie alien invaders with ass-faces. Lovely.

Close - New Zealand. Made by Peter Jackson, who, as it was just mentioned, did Lord of the Rings (and Bad Taste).

The only Australian zombie movie I can think of is a recent one called Undead, which was pretty good. Could've used more limb-hacking, but it was a step in the right direction.

You are talking about Return Of The Living Dead. Great Movie!!! The army chemicals made the dead come back to life. BTW...I just bought the 2 disc collectors edition of Day Of The Dead. I think that movie is really good. The effects by Tom Savini were way before their time. Maybe not the best movie in the trilogy, but a great movie none-the-less.

Not a big fan of zombie movies, but there are a few I like. Both of the Dawn of the Dead movies are cool, Resident Evil is cool. But i'm more of a vampire movie person.
