also, when films are remade, the originals tend to see an increase of rentals, purchases and overall interest... if someone as hot (director-wise jeez!) as Tarintino did Battle Royal, more people would probably get to see the great original.

yes, that is one positive for the remake if it does happen.^_^But the thing is, QT's blood in movies are ridiculous,IMO.

Yeah they just like the movie for the sword fighting. I've seen all the movies QT put in Kill Bill.

I'd rather just see the original movie brought over here, preferably to DVD and VHS to avoid any more controversy.

Battle Royale 1 and 2 is available on DVD here in the UK so i'm sure you would have no problem geeting it, I have both and love them, I would get the special edition version for BR1 as it has a better picture and a DTS soundtrack it also has extra scenes that wasn't in the original release and a sceond disc with making of features etc and a tv spot by Tarrantino as he's a big fan of Kinji Fukasaku hence the references to his films etc in Kill Bill.

BR 2 is just a original release with no second disc, but does have a DTS soundtrack, the second film is awsome more violent than the first, well worth getting if you loved the first like i did

Well, UK DVDs are fine, save for the PAL format.

The main problem is quality and figuring out which version is the best version. I'd personally just like to see Tarantino work his "magic" and get us an official BR set (with both 1 and 2) with all the extras, including the BR Director's Cut released in the US.

Battle Royale 1 is pretty good, but the 2nd one is crap. The only good thing about it is Riki Takeuchi. I didn't know Tarantino was talking about remaking it, i'd be interested in that.

What's with the Kill Bill hating? I'm a huge japanese movie collector, and I think Kill Bill was great. It was just like a japanese martial arts flick, only with a good budget! Also, what is this mysterious reason why Tarantino did the blood like that? The only reason I say is because I know Tarantino said he was a big Takashi Miike fan, and he influenced the movie. Anyone whos seen some Miike films knows how that guy handles gore...

It's ALMOST impossible to get the DVD here in the US...or in my area at least.I'll try that site^_^
