How many people here like to read a good novel? I'm an avid reader and I happen to be bored right now so I'll give you all a bit of a list of what I've been reading lately.
Just finished the "North and South" trilogy by John Jakes and all three books were very good. I highly recommend the series to anyone who has an interest in the Civil War and Civil War era history. However, one warning. By the time you reach the third book you will be very tired of all the killing.
On a lighter, note, I just finished a pair of books by Robert Ludlum called "The Road to Gandolfo" and the "Road to Omaha". For those who don't know, Robert Ludlum is the author of the Bourne Identity/Bourne Supremecy series and writes a lot of action/thriller material. However, the two "Road" books are actually comedies and were fucking hilarious. To anyone who has ever read Ludlum, don't read these books expecting them to be like some of the other works he has written, but you will laugh your ass off.
Anyone feel free to post about what you've read, liked/hated, favorite/least favorite authors, whatever. Give reviews, too, if you want.

Honestly, the last book I read was "A Farewell to Arms," by Hemingway for my junior year of highschool. I actually liked the book for his existential take on life and good use of archetypes.
Other than that, all I read is the sports section in the Chicago Trib every day when I'm dropin the Cosby kids off at the pool.

I, too, am an avid reader. Right now, I'm curently reading The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I'm in the middle of the third book. this story, seven books long, makes your brain think. It's awesome.
Before Is tarted with the DT series I was reading the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. Sort of a sci-fi/fantasy story. I'm awaiting the release of his newest book, coming 8/31.
I have read the Bourne Identity by Ludlum, I want to read the sequel, just haven't gooten around to it. I take those other Ludlum books into consideration, since anbody can enjoy a good comedy.

I've read the DT series, too. Waiting for book 7 to come out next month. The 3rd and 5th books are my favs so far. The first is also a fav of mine because it just seems to have a different atmosphere than the others.

I'm gonna start on the Bourne Identity series since I've heard a lot of good things about the books and the movies. I don't want to see the movies before I read the books. Ludlum was also a good author, so I'm sure I'll be entertained.
Anyone here like Tom Clancy? Debt of Honor was the shit.

I get through a book about every 3 days or so. Except Tom Clancy or Stephen King ones. They can take upwards of a week.
When I'm not on the internet, working, at school, with my girlfriend, playing video games, eating or sleeping; there's a good chance I'm reading a book.
