It is decided.
I have to kill Seth MacFarlene.

Guess I'm the only one excited about this....I love the Flintstones and I feel like Seth Macfarlane can do the original series justice. Remember that Flintstones was originally a cartoon made for adults. I feel like He owes everything he has to the Flintstones. I mean look at the similarities between Flintstones and Family Guy. They're not really that different. It's honestly right up his alley. This should be funny.

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, vomit, or do all of the above.
But the dude must be stopped.

Well my reaction was a "AWW HELL NAW!" followed with a healthy dose of "No, just no" and last but not least "There goes another fragment of my childhood straight down the toilet." Seriously this guy needs to stop while he's behind.

I hated this show when I was little (along with The Jetsons), and, to this day, I still hate it.
Sincerely, I hope this is a colossal train wreck that blows up in his face.

Actually, now that I've learned he used to write episodes for some kids shows back in the day, I'm willing to give this a shot now.

I'm not sure what to think about this. I'll watch the first episode and then decide.
Uuuh...
I'm not a fan of adult cartoons, not kiddy cartoons. I kinda wish he'd spent his time coming up with something else, or working on that long-rumored Family Guy movie. I don't have much taste for The Flintstones at this stage of my life...

The Flintstones was a nice shoutout to The Honeymooners.
Seth McFarlane and crew is not in the same talent category to attempt this. Family Guy was kinda a dead giveaway. What now? Fred doing "remember that time when" jokes?
First response to the news: "Seth MacFarlane doing a show where the protagonist is fat, midle-class and is married to a redhead woman. Where have i seen this before?"

Yeah, seriously.
He better stay close to the original, I don't want this show to turn into "Family Guy: Stone Age Edition" and he better not make Dino freaking speak.
Even I think Seth McFarlane is doing too much.
The Flinstones has reached its prime and is now iconic. It has its place in television history, and that is where it should remain. It does not need, and should not be, rebooted.
Ironically, that was used in Family Guy as a joke.

Did not know that about that joke, kinda funny.

"Plus, I think America is finally ready for an animated sitcom about a fat, stupid guy with a wife who's too good for him."
Seth MacFarlane's words taken directly from the article. He is aware of the similarities.

Oh but it makes perfect sense... I mean, all you need now are two more kids added to the family and you got your Family Guy: Stone Age Edition.
One's got to be fat and stupid while the other is ugly and hated. Pebbles has to speak in some sort of accent that no other relative has and there you go!
Oh, and Dino has to be stoned.
I am going to pretend that this thread title is "Fox animated shows."
Because look what is coming our way. Napoleon Dynamite.

Oh for fuck's sake, this had better revive Jamiroquai's career, because that's about all the good the show'll be worth, if anything.

Somebody once said that having Family Guy cancelled back then broke Seth's heart SO MUCH, that he vowed to have his face everywhere animation could be so that he'd never have to suffer such indignity again.
Either way, fuck him. Creatively the guy's on the level of Kevin Costner. One good bomb and people will realize he's a hack.
