I went to go see it today and i liked it more than the original film. It's a bit more fast paced, and bit more like the book then the original. If you didn't like the original then you won't like this film. It's more of the same but it's not a bad thing. feels more polished and the relationship was more fleshed out.
there wasn't anything after the credits.
So do you plan on seeing it, are you even interested, are you going to wait until it hits dvd, etc. post your thoughts if you saw the film, whatever.

I don't know, something tells me I'm not going to like it, and I'm a huge fan of the original movie.
Sissy pulled off the character so greatly, just her appearance alone made it ten times creepier when the prom scene came.
I want to see this, I really do, but I just have a feeling I'm gonna be disappointed.

Absolutely horrendous.
The cgi is out of place, the main character comes off as an entitled whiny ass and the religious bigotry and hipocrysy is -may I ask why?- is downplayed.
Another soulless, brainless remake that perhaps no one asked for. I hate how the movie yanks on the chain that this might be an actual relevant remake and then does nothing.

I only read half the book (years ago), but nothing in the trailer said to me "we're doing it more like the novel this time." And even if it is closer to the book, they still paint carry as an attractive girl-next-door, which clearly isn't true in the book (she's both overweight and unattractive).
It's been too many years since I've seen the original to say whether I even liked that version, but the story in essence is an exhibition in cruelty. It does nothing for me, and the fact Stephen King can't write a realistic bully compounds that fact.
Hollywood knows that there's a lot of capital in Chloë Grace Moretz right now, and a Carrie remake seemed like a good way to sell her.

Temp, I do not think that he can't write a realistic bully, it's just that his bullies often weer right into sociopathic and/or downright psychotic dimensions.
Makes you wonder who the hell beat Stephen King up in school, the guy is admittedly trapped by his own tropes most of the time.
