Hey that was great! When I was younger I used to love Transformers. And to anyone who doesn't, one question, have you ever played with them????
They have to be the most well thought out, enjoyable toys ever! And how many copycat toys have we seen since. The original Transformers are classics, even the movie was pretty good! Just hate that damn '80's music though.......
Unicron was a bad mo'fo.

That movie is a couple of years old. There's also a Nike ad with a huge sneaker on a billboard that transforms into a robot, as well as an official Mazda promotion featuring a model for an upcoming figure in the Transformers Alternators line.
Versions of the original G1 Transformers are currently being sold at Toys R Us Stores. The new Unicron toy is also in heavy rotation at most retailers...
The entire Generation 1 series is available on DVD now, along with the movie.

I must say I love Transformers(well at least G1) I own every season on dvd aswell as the movie. I truly wish that they would have made a series out of the GI Joe/Transformers comics. Although I don't think that it would be as good today because I would prefer the transformers to be drawn the G1 way and the Joes to be drawn the originol way aswell. Also because some key voice actors are now gone such as Chris Latta who most noteable voiced Starscream and Cobra Commander.
...as well as Sparkplug, Wheeljack, Gung-Ho, and many others...
The closest thing you'll get to an animated Joe vs. TF are the cameos of a couple of Joe characters in TF Season 3. In the episode "Only human" a metal-faced human villain called "Snake" (complete with Cobra Commander's voice) turns 3 of the TFs into humans. At the end of the episode, he makes the resounding cry of "COBRA!" - obviously, it's Cobra Commander.
Also, there's a season 3 TF human character named Marissa Faireborne. She has a father who appears in one episode, who sounds , and looks like, the GI Joe character "Flint", only older.
The kicker being that Flint's real name is Dashielle Fairborne...do the math.

I never saw generation one, but I did watch generation two. It got me hooked, and it was a very cool series. The guy who did the voice of Starscream there also did the voice of Starscream in an episode of the first season of Beast Wars/Beasties, when his spark took over Waspinator's body.

I'm one of those fortunate people who has the original g1 series on DVD, in 5.1 surround ans a few extra's including that little movie, on that dvd there is also a trivia game and few collecters who talk about the transformers. For me it was hard to find the movie on DVD but now i have 3 of them. They are all very good in quality.
I heard that they were making a live action movie of the transformers, but i havent heard any news about it anymore...
