hello... I have a 4.7.1.2 driver... but would like to change it to a 4.1.0.9... how do I go about in doing this? (do I just uninstall the driver... then install the other?). This won't mess anything up will it? And what would I have to do if I wanted to go back to the newer one?

My laptop has an OS of XP. And I can't "roll back" to any old drivers right now... I just got this laptop not too long ago (if that helps...) thanks in advance!

Uninstall the newer driver and then install the older version.

Answer no when asked to keep the existing files.

If you want to go back to the newer version then just update the driver

it didn't work. I tried uninstalling the newer one... by going to device manager, then display adapters, and went to the properties of the NVIDIA.. and uninstalled it from there. I restarted my comp.. and could c my comp was diff. but when I tried installing the older one... it said to remove the other one before installing it. I checked device manager and the new one was still there. And I was never asked to keep exisiting files
help again!

Is something wrong with the latest version? Why would you want to change anyhow?

Try to uninstall the driver using Safe Mode then. This way the driver files will not be in use because Safe Mode will being using the Standard VGA drivers.

After uninstalling the driver, change it to use the standard VGA driver.
After the restart, install the older driver.

im doing it because a certain game only runs on the older one. The newer one is fine, but just wont run the game. I'm beginning to not care so much to play it anymore, though. I'll give your advise a try, thanks. (if it doesn't work... eh... oh well).

some drivers use an uninstall program i think Nvidia based ones do, go to add/remove programs and click on the driver and remove, then re-install the old driver it works for most this works better than device manager as that doesn't always get rid of all the files and registry entries.
