Let me know what any of you think:

Christian game studio founded:

Group of pious developers are hoping religious gamers will cry "Hallelujah!" at their planned line of non-offensive games.
A development studio has come together that will focus on making games for a Christian audience. In a press release sent out today, the new studio, called Digital Praise, outlined their plans for the studio and made several comments about the potential for development in the Christian games market.

President and CEO Tom Bean has assembled a team of veterans from the education sector of the industry. Their collective resume includes such elementary school classics as Carmen Sandiego, Reader Rabbit, and Oregon Trail. Digital Praise has already acquired the license and started development on two games based on the Adventures in Odyssey radio theater series.

The company is also optimistic about the market for Christian games, citing the large overall growth in the games industry as evidence that there is plenty of room for their products.

"Digital Praise is founded on the principle that fun, exciting computer games don't need to be flooded with violence, sex, hate or images of horror," said Bean.

Much like Chritian music, it won't be popular enough to be mainstream. I wouldn't buy stock, er Frankenscense, into that company.

Good for them. So long as they leave my games alone, I'll let them live. And Oregon Trail kicks ass.

grin i truly do hate these non- violence game supporters. come on people if i couldnt express violence in a game i probably would do it in real life. violent games keep people sane they dont promote violence. And there are ratings on every game they are they for a reason. if its a M rated game dont get it for your under age son and be suprise that it has violence or cussing in it. and if you dont know your kid bought this game watch your kid a little bit.

I support them in what they're trying to do, but if they churn out utter drivel like they did in the 80's, then well, that support will be quickly withdrawn.

Well, they're not trying to take other people's games away, but create games for (what I imagine to be) a really, really, small, small niche composed of Christians who are such goodies that they can't play the same games as anyone else, or stand the sight of polygonal blood. Kinda goofy if you ask me, and I'm a Christian...

Really, though, I hope they're not how much Jesus loves everyone and all that stuff...people need to stop portraying Jesus as a hippy and get into the real heart of Christianity, but I doubt that'll happen with these guys...

As long as they focus on fun and not themes and morals, they should be fine. But if it's anything like those horrible games that were released on the NES with the Christian theme, I can see history repeating itself.

Sames. I remember playing a game called Spiritual Warfare, where I went to hell for walking into a pub, because I was no longer "righteous".

I don't know if you could a RPG, but Oregon Trail was a game where you rode in your horse drawn carriage and went around trading and buying goods and stuff like that.

When I was in 5th/6th grade we used to love playing that ish.

I honestly hope the first day one of these 'Holy' games comes out on the market to the public, Rockstar comes out with something bad ass just to be funny.
