It's like the director saw Seven or something and thought to himself, hey people like fucked up things! I should make a fucked up thing!
But he didn't have the subtlety of a David Fincher so he made up for it with gore. I hope I'm wrong, though. Still, I definitely won't be seeing that on anything but DVD.
