The 9-11 commission, which is supposed to be non-partisan, is basically trying to blame the Bush Administration for everything. It looks like a big ad campaign for Kerry, on the taxpayer budge.

They should have either done this immediately after 9/11, or waited till after the election. But no, they did this like 6 or 7 months before the big vote. What an incredible "coincidence".

Actually the government recieved warnings from Israeli and Russian intelligence that attacks on buildings symbolic of US government, military, and commerce were being planned. Granted, no specific date or specific location was given, but you'd think security all over the place would have been stepped up.

I usually hate antipolitical statements like "politics suck" or "all politicians are power-mad liars". They don't help. If you really think that is so, research it or try to change it.

But I should make an exception for these Rep-Dem debates.

To me, Reps are bastards. Their tax breaks only favour the rich, they're knee-deep into big business (just look at the business ties the current Bush administration has!) and would probably sell their mother if it made another thousand bucks. Many of them hate homosexuals, a large part of them is against abortion (even after rape) and an increasingly big part of them are christian fundamentalists who think creationism is fine.

I have nothing much against Bush. He's a spoiled, rich brat who got into office after a very shady election, but we all know that "his" policies are actually the policies of Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condi et al. Did you ever read the website of the project for a new American Century (I'm sorry, I may be mangling up the word order here). What's in there, is pure, cold-blooded imperialism.

However.

The Dems are also bastards, what's more, they lie about it. Many things Bush did were actually continuations of Clinton's policies (e.g. aggression towards Iraq, cutting down on gay rights, limiting abortion rights, etc etc). To me, the current Dems are a generation that actually lost its ideals.

As someone here remarked, it's indeed the lesser of two evils. Kerry's biggest opponent is himself, Bush's greatest opponent is probably his own stupidity (it doesn't mean squat that he graduated from Yale, universities don't test your intelligence, they test your cramming skills).

And why should American citizens not be critical of their presidents. When the left wing complains, it's "whining" and "bitching". No, it's called freedom of speech in a democracy. If you want people to shut up (or be shut away), join the fascist party.

Fascism all over the world is, sadly, on the rise, including in Europe... and it has already taken root in too many heads.
