Hate both, but I'll have to go with BF3.

I...don't like either? No seriously I fucking hate Call of Duty and Battlefield 3 definitely doesn't live up to BF2's legacy. In fact I'd say it's a joke. I guess if I had to choose I'd say BF3.

I don't play either one but Battlefield 1942 was superb; I lean towards BF3.

CoD is for casual gamers, BF3 is not, that's really all it comes down to.

But I'm a hardcore gamer........and I play CoD.

Depends on my mood. I'm not a huge fan of either, but I would probably choose BF3. Although my favorite is BF:BC2.

If I want to play an FPS I'll just play Team Fortress 2. I played the first Modern Warfare and it bored the crap out of me. Not really a fan of the modern military thing.

Target audience and skill required are different from personal preference. I'm a hardcore gamer and I play casual games too.

Casuals play CoD and some hardcore gamers play CoD. You wont find casuals on BF3, and if you do, they aren't on for long.

Team Fortress 2 is the shiz nit. Although my favorite FPS has become Gotham City Impostors. Freakin love that game.

Wow a lot of hate toward these games. After a while COD has started to bore me. I started playing the B3 demo and as far as the beta went minus a couple glitches I'd have to say I like B3 better. I haven't bought either because I believe its basically the same game each year with a different wrapper on it. Now I do not hate these games because I used to play the shit out of COD. The problem is that they have become stale to me.

I liked COD up until MW3. MW3 was just utter garbage IMO and turned me off to the whole series. After playing battlefield I won't go back. COD Single player wasn't bad, but was ridiculously short and easy. MP was just trash. They rehashed so much of the game that I honestly though I had put MW2 in the first time I started it up. The menu is no different. They added some new game modes, so more weapons and some twists on how you level and rank up faster. After playing Battlefield 3, COD just looks like a joke. Everything in COD looks overly exaggerated compared to battlefield 3.

With battlefield 3 I really enjoy the destructible levels, and it puts everyone one a level playing field, and it really offers a dynamic approach to how you play the game. Maps are huge as well. Guns also feel well balanced for the most part and I think it gives a fair balance to players just starting the game against veteran players. Given Battlefield does have some drawbacks compared to COD, but there very minor IMO. Not as many modes, not as many weapons, redundant attachments, no vehicle tutorial, and a bad menu system where you can't quit out of the lobby or tweak classes between matches, but at least the gameplay is fair. You just don't get that with COD.

You can have players camping in windows, or behind counters in COD and struggle to actually get a good angle on them all match long. In Battlefield if someone is camping behind something, chances are the cover isn't going to last long on them before they piss someone of enough to use an RPG or Grenade launch to destroy it.

Indifference to both games is equal.

I guess Call of Duty? Only because I had fun playing the World at War Nazi Zombie maps locally with friends.

I'd say MW3. I've always had a lot of fun playing the MW series and the third installment is no different. the gameplay to me is solid although online it can get really, REALLY frustrating at times. Like i think its safe to say connection speed outweighs skill almost every single time. But overall it is an enjoyable game to play and B3 just never did it for me. A lot of people say its more strategic, but i just kinda found it boring and the vehicles and overall mechanic felt really tacky and stiff. But i only ever saw my roommate play it a handful of times so I honestly don't know a whole lot about it.

But as someone mentioned earlier, i am kind of getting tired of the modern warfare angle. Its gone from too many WWII games to too many modern warfare games. I'd really like it if games explored history more as i would buy a musket era or even medieval type game in an instant. Like there's that game that gets mentioned on Reddit from time to time (sorry i always forget the name of it) where its like a 18th or 17th century era game with firing lines and calavery and stuff and it always looks like an absolute blast to play.

That is not really a good reason to accept mediocrity year after year. Game is made with a 6-7 year old engine.

BF3 shits all over MW3 in pretty much every aspect. Graphics, sound, gameplay, variety, scale, multiplayer... Only advantage I will give MW3 is the single player. But no true FPS player cares about that.

Some of the worlds biggest CoD players and Youtube commentators have switched to playing BF exclusively. These are guys who make money off of people viewing their vids so that gives you an idea how strongly they feel about how poor CoD has become.

I still enjoy some Black Ops with friends, but BF all the way for me. Top 4% in the world on Xbox. Come at me

In this instance, I would choose BF3 because MW3 feels exactly the same as the first Modern Warfare games. But had you said Black Ops or BF3 I would say Black Ops. Its no secret that Treyarch makes the better COD games. Black Ops is the best COD yet. My favorite entry in the COD franchise.

Black Ops did a lot of new things. Things MW3 didn't have despite the fact MW3 was the newer game. Things like Diving, creating custom emblems, putting emblems on your gun, changing your reticle and reticle color, putting your clan tag on your gun, having facepaint, and of course Wager Matches.
