This game will be a truly momentous occasion. Donkey Kong Country 2 was probably the greatest game of its time. We shall hope Retro Studios will not end up like retards and screw this up.

Return to Donkey Kong Country or Donkey Kong Country 4 would be a better title, but it's great that they're going back to it. All 3 games were awesome, and DK hasn't been in a good game since DK64.
Makes me kind of want a Wii.

I was very excited when I heard about this game. I grew up playing the Donkey Kong Country games, and this new one looks really good.

I grew up playing Super Nintendo. I haven't really played Donkry Kong Country THAT much in particular, but seeing a game that pretty much revives my favorite game system is awesome. I'll be getting it. I'm loving this retro turn that some franchises are taking.

I don't consider DK64 to be a worthy successor to the DKC games of the SNES. Hopefully this will be pretty nice..though I'm not too enthusiastic.
The E3 trailer was enough to get me pumped, but not sell me. However, I just watched this gameplay video, and I'm suddenly really excited to play.
It looks like the original Donkey Kong Country games, with only a few modern tweaks. Like a New Super Mario Bros. kind of thing. That game was awesome.
Edit: Looking back at the trailer VS the gameplay videos, I figured out why I wasn't quite psyched about the trailer. While watching, all my focus was on the cool new backgrounds and the neat jungle atmosphere. I wasn't entirely focused on the actual gameplay or the characters at all (Probably due to the speed of the trailer, from one shot to the next so quickly), but when I watched the gameplay video, it was slowed down and I could easily focus on DK jumping on baddies, collecting K-O-N-G, and grabbin' 'nanners.
Can't wait.

You know, going back to the old DKC games on the SNES, it really is amazing how good those games looked given the technology. I'm sure this one is going to be spectacular.
I think it looks great. Retro's track record is pretty good. If they could take Metroid into the 3rd dimension, first-person perspective, and yet make it a complete and total Metroid experience from top to bottom, I'll believe they can do anything.
Now, Team Ninja's take on Metroid.... not so fond of that....
Either way, I don't miss the Kremlins. I love more original characters and enemies. Even Mario, Metroid, and Zelda games have often times totally new creatures to face, so the new Tikis look great for this new game. I'm all for it.

Getting rid of water levels and Kremlings is a huge fail. K. Rool is DK's Bowser, you can't just leave him out.

Pretty pumped about it. DK and DK2 were just awesome so can't wait for this newest installment . Glad Donkey Kong is in it and not just one game and than being captured by K. Rool again and again. Though I miss the Kremlings and K. Rool the new baddies seem really cool.

I'll forgive the lack of Kremlings if they just have Klump in a cameo

Yeah, I can't believe the kremlings and Rool are out of this game, I was shocked. It seriously blows chunks, I'm just not feelin the tiki's at all, but I'll still get this nonetheless just because its DK and the gameplay is great nostalgia.
Donkey Kong Country Returns just came out, and I snatched it up right away. Anyone else have it yet? What do you think?

The levels are fun! I just beat the first world, and now I'm going back and getting everything before I continue on. The puzzle pieces and KONG letters are easy enough, but fun, to find. However, the time attack mode on each level is insane! I've only beaten the first and second level with gold. I've played each of those levels a million times. I have them memorized. Ha.

I love the Donkey Kong Country series! Especially 3 I wasn't a fan as a kid but I love it now. Maybe more so than Diddy's Kong Quest. SO I can't wait to play DKC Returns I hope it's A hoot! Looking forward to some Classic DK gameplay and the always awesome music.

Eh... I don't know. I deem DKC2 one of the best games of all time, but I'm not sure how interested I am in a game that made so little attempt to update. I'm probably going to pass this one up, and not because I think it's a bad game. I'm sure it's awesome. I'm also sure Mega Man 9, Sonic 4, and Castlevania:HoD are good games, too. Money is tight these days, and I wanna give my dollar to developers who didn't release the same game twice.
Also, playing DKC with a Wii Remote kinda sounds like balls.

DKCR is a fantastic update to a classic game. It's pretty hard but also a lot of fun. It changed developers, but Retro Studios was up to the task. After redefining Metroid and making the most critically acclaimed game trilogy of all time, their stab at Donkey Kong Country is just as fresh, if familiar. They didn't fix what wasn't broken and instead took what we loved and brought it into the current generation.
If you're a Donkey Kong Country fan, this is the Return you've been waiting for. It doesn't disappoint.
