Dragon Age II *NO Spoilers*
So in an effort to avoid the massive spoiler temptation that the MK 2011 board has become, I thought I'd try and start up a convo for fans of the DA series. Just picked this up today and wondering if anyone else is playing it. I'm not too far in but I can already tell that I'm digging BioWare's changes to the overall feel to combat and the fact that your player character is voiced. Anybody else digging it? EDIT: Added No Spoiler heading.

I played the demo briefly. I'm a huge fan of the Baldur's Gate series, and the first DA game was viewed as the spiritual successor. It's a view I can see. If the little I played of the DA2 demo is any indication, it's not really my type of game. My opinion probably shouldnt be taken too seriously though, since I acknowledge I stopped playing after what I felt was a graphically choppy battle. Maybe the not-battle parts would be more my style.

the demo sucked. played it for 10 minutes before deleting it. lame graphics and fighting system
Both of you:
The game is essentially the same. Only reason anyone would hate the combat is if they played the first on PC: Console users had to put up with the bullshit PC-EVERYTHING/interface. The second installment allows the game to flow much more fluidly.
I can't believe I just read a complaint about the graphics. Maybe use something other than your 1987 Toshiba/Windows 97 Processor to run the game.
Tactics are still there, Nightmare is finally challenging, none of the characters seem like fillers, and the story is great and especially rewarding if you went through the trouble of completing all the quests in the first game (+DLC) and imported your save.
