FACT: intelligence has nothing to do with musical taste
FACT: A lot of people liking something has nothing to do with how good that something is.
FACT: I never said anything negative about the song Lady Marmalade.
FACT: Lady Marmalade was #1 on the Billboard charts for 5 weeks.
FACT: Crank That (Soulja Boy) was #1 on the Billboard charts for 7 weeks.
so by your logic, Crank That > Lady Marmalade

Exactly. Read above. 'Good' is relative.

I don't care for Soulja Boy and sure as hell don't think it comes close to Lady Marmalade. But other people may feel otherwise.

HAHA! Nothing wrong with some debate. It's a natural occurrence within a forum environment. Besides, we can't get off topic here anyway, so if he wants to pursue, I'd be more than happy to oblige. If you can't take the heat, get out of the thread.

Did I say, that you said I did? Nope, pretty sure I didn't either.
Also, I don't care for Soulja Boy either. I purposely used a terrible fucking example, or rather a good example of a terrible artist, to prove my point.
I was merely trying to refute your claim that a large group of like-minded zomb--er, i mean people equates to something being of, if I may use a relative term, 'good' quality.
Also, you contradict yourself. First you say that good is a relative term. True. Relative to who? To an individual. So you're saying an opinion should only matter to ones self. In other words, "What you think doesn't mean shit to me". But then you say that if a lot of individual opinions are the same, that increases the strength of the original opinion? Nope. 0 + 0 + 0 Ad infinitum still equals zero.
Opinions are like assholes. Figure out the rest.
That being said, I think I'm gonna throw in the towel on this one.
Nothing I say is gonna change your mind (read above), only you can do that.
Besides, I want my cookie.

LOL.
But I did not claim that a large group of people liking something makes it good. I just said that a lot of people liking something makes it a "hit." I said that I think Lady Marmalade is a good song. That's all.
But enough of this. This is getting petty and is turning from a drive-by into a drive-by-curb-stomp-beat-with-a-night-stick-and-cut-a-bitch.
For actual drive-by content, well, I went to a new coffee shop today. There's this really shitty one next to campus and their stuff tastes like they mix the grounds with potting soil. I went a bit farther down the road and had a very nice iced latte. I also think I'm getting addicted to caffeine. Hooray for 20-credit course loads and all-nighters! I also can't wait to get out of college, have my job and apartment, and live my own life independently. I'm tired of being on campus with these kids. I have a freshman as a roommate and his parents spoil him, so he thinks he's a prince.
And he keeps talking about how he's so "proud to be Italian." He's got shirts and everything. I can understand being aware of one's cultural identity and all that, but don't shove it down my throat. Maybe if he was doing his work and not talking about his identity all the time, he would've not failed both his basic math and U.S. history exams.
I've also noticed that I'm flipping out on people more. A few days ago, one of the election "get out the vote" people asked me if I was registered to vote. He asked me three times during the course of the same day. I freaked the fuck out and started calling him 30 different types of bitches and motherfuckers. And you know what.....screaming and letting it all out felt good. Really damn good.

I lost my urge to watch Heroes. After watching all of season 1 and 2 and the first two episodes of seson 3 I am just done. I haven't watched episodes three or four and I don't plan on viewing the show ever again unless Heroes: Origins happens. I might watch that.

I agree completely. It used to be my favorite show, but now it's become so boring and I've lost complete interest in all of the characters that I used to really love. It takes so many episodes to get to a point that could have been made when the story was original introduced. Quite a few characters need to just leave completely. Matt Parkman is the most useless character I have ever seen and I roll my eyes every time he is on screen.
Now this whole Niki/Tracy thing is playing out and it's just silly. It took them all of the first season to get Niki to a really great point. Season 2 she falls completely flat, and now we don't even know what happened to her. Frankly I don't even care what happened to her at this point. Plus this whole Syler/Peter arc is so tired. They're going for shock value, and falling flat.
I wouldn't be thrilled with the idea of Heroes becoming a spin on X-Men or anything, but there needs to be some action going on. Something to keep people's attention because they apparently aren't doing it with these extremely slow moving and twisting story lines. Ratings have been very low this season when compared to season one and two. I'd hate to see it get cancelled, when it could be so much better than it is, but I don't see a great future for the show if it continues the way it is. Especially with the Screen Actor's Guild possibly going on strike. That could shut down the season like the writer's strike shut down season two. Add that with the low ratings and Heroes could be done with.

I never said good song, I just said it certainly doesn't suck, meaning it's not bad.If it was bad, it wouldn't have beat out hundreds of other songs out at the time.
*sigh* I'm in love with my new phone, my very first! At last my mom decided to step into the new millennium.

Near the end of 8th grade, I figured it out. But, I don't like when people call me gay or straight really... It bugs me =/
Why? Think I get hard from you or something? Or just surprised I didn't tell you?
