So, Toy Story 3 was nominated for five Academy Awards this year. It'll be interesting to see if it wins both Best Animated Feature and Best Picture.

Speaking of animation, has anybody here on this site seen The Cat Piano? Great little film, it is.

I hope it wins best picture, anything but Black Swan and the Social Network.

Chick flicks are horrendously boring, and I've heard nothing but horrible reviews from this movie. Not even the "sex" scene that Natalie and Mila have together thrilled the people who saw it and said it sucked.

The Social Network I actually saw, and it was the very first movie that put me to sleep. Having Justin Timberlake in there didn't solve things either. It was just crap!

I want Toy Story to win because damnit that movie made me cry. It does that for a lot of people. And it was just awesome, just pure awesomeness!

I love Toy Story, and I would say it touched my heart. But as for Black Swan, I thought it was an incredible movie (sex scene aside, even) and definitely would not call it a chick flick. I thought the direction was great and the entire movie creates a very thick, intense atmosphere.

While I don't recommend seeing it with a small child (or a parent, for that matter =P) I would definitely say the opposite of what you said. Almost everyone I've spoken to (or everything I've read) about the movie has been generally positive.

For me Black Swan was good, but not great. Everyone seems to really love it that I talk to, and say it's one of their favourite films of all time. I thought the filmography and acting were excellent, but for the script itself I thought it was pretty basic and it was easy to see where the film was going before it got there.

I saw Black Swan and it is far from a chick flick.. It was really dark and twisted. I really enjoyed the movie. But as much as I enjoyed it we all pretty much grew up with Woody and Buzz. So it wasn't hard to get emotionally attached to these characters. I'm pulling for Toy Story 3! But Black Swan deserves a little credit and Natalie Portman was just great in it.

I had class Monday. I don't have class Tuesday. The snow cancelled classes Wednesday and Thursday. I don't have class Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. What the hell. What am I supposed to do with all of this free time? My liver is going to die. Gosh. I do not pay $24,000 a year to get drunk because all of my classes are cancelled eternally! Ah!!!!!!

Sounds awesome to me. That happened to colleges in my area last week, but my school was unfortunately still in session. Hooray for traversing dangerous roads to get to an 8am Calculus class!!

NHL All Star weekend begins tomorrow. Any other NHL fans see the Guardian Project by Stan Lee? I think most of them are a bit corny, but it's a neat idea nonetheless.
