check the cable, you might have to RMA for another one.
about 5% of computer hardware arrives DOA, at least that's my experience. doesn't seem to matter where you buy it from I'm afraid.
Double check the installation, make sure the video card is plugged in to the power supply properly too. If its not a brain fart, you got a bad card. you might want to try another PCI-e slot if you've got one.

Well I've switched among the 3 slots I have with no success. If there's anything that was faulty by my behalf, it's that I haven't connected the ATX CPU slot to anything, which I don't think is the problem.
I'll try to see how it works with my current computer and if there's no success, I will certainly be pissed.
I refuse to compete in the SOTW contest any longer if its continues to be decided by bias!
The best sigs are ignored while horrid sigs win solely because of their focus. A sig contest is supposed to award the best and most well-designed sig, not the sig that you like because it's funny and/or appeals to your interests.

I know it sucks but don't try to take it too hard. Electronics are extremely sensitive. I dont know how much bad product leaves the factories but I do know that something can get knocked out of place in shipping.
you haven't connected the ATX CPU slot to anything? huh? you forgot to plug in your processor? lol I'm confused.

ok so you have that big ass 20 pin Power supply thing right, if the 8 pin device you are talking about looks like that then you need to locate the 8 pin power connector on your PSU and plug that bad boy in. there is your problem right there.
Take a picture of it if you can.

thats an 8 pin secondary power connector, your PSU should have one. plug that in and I bet you a DP your problems will disappear.

you might try 2 4 pin connectors, if your PSU has 2 4 pins that are wired like they go together its the same thing. some motherboards have a 4 pin secondary while others have 8.

I have the cables but the square's and upside-down D's (?) simply don't match.

Did the 8 pin thing have a black cap over 4 of the pins when you bought it?

Ok I looksed some stuff up here. you can stick the 4 pin in the middle but you wont get all the power needed for things like USB, there are 4/8 pin adapters on the market and you might even have one in the box your motherboard or PSU came with, Check.
