I've tried, but she couldn't handle that my parents didn't even want to meet her because of her ethnicity. Even I was surprised by how strongly they felt against us being together, they even hinted at my being ex-communicated. I wouldn't have minded anyway, but she couldn't handle having that much hate directed at us for something so trivial.

I'm really sorry to hear that man, I really hope you can get her back, I think sustained efforts would eventually get them to come around, their love's gotta be stronger than their prejudice.

That's sad. My friend is Ukranian and her exboyfriend's Polish parents really disliked her for not being Polish. I don't know, personally I would never stand for that kind of discrimination, and I would lose respect for a person who chose to follow in their parents bigoted belief systems.
