I have been trying to respond to this post for a while, stupid internet connection I've been having as of lately... It's a long post too...



I must say, I really wanted to respond to this girl, however, a few things prevented me in doing so:

A.) I don't know who she is, she posted on a picture of a friend of mine's "controversial" picture.

I say "controversial" because this picture bothered a lot of my other friends. The guy in the picture recently broke up with his girlfriend, and not even a day later, his new fling posted the pic of them swapping spit, not caring.

B.) From the look of the profile picture, the girl couldn't be older than thirteen.

C.) She already made herself look really, really stupid by writing shit before and after that was a bit more dumb than what I posted in my previous post.

D.) Not worth my time, nor did I really cared that much to correct and make a mountain out of an ant hill.

Anyways, about that Youtube clip with the kid, I wouldn't say he was the most annoying since I know many people, even grown adults, that could be more annoying than that. And you know what the best thing to do in that situation? Muting them, even to the ones that intend on playing background music for the duration of the level.

Although, I can't stop laughing when I hear children using the N-word like crazy. It makes me laugh because I hardly doubt they even understand the main reason why that word exists... I don't think they've reached that grade in school when they first realize how that word originated.

I recall that some book author came up with the color thing where black is African, white is European, brown is Malaysian, yellow is Asian and red is American. Racial insults (humor's different) are sordid and 999/1000 times due to the lack of knowledge, and distastefully ignorant stupidity.

As a black man, particularly one from the projects, I must admit that I take pride in my broad vocabulary and proper English speech.

I know there are too many Africian Americans choosing not to speek proper English for the stereotype to lose significance any time soon. Now, I'm not saying I don't get sassy, because I sure as hell do, but I am not one to neglect the proper speaking of any language.

Even when I speak Spanish - what little I do know - I speak it properly. I recently learned "vosotros" never made it out of Spain. lol

To clarify, the "N"-word isn't a derogatory term that is associated exclusively with blacks. In all actuality, the N word is simply the broken version of 'negro,' which is Spanish for black. It wasn't even used as a slur until after slavery ended.

Wikipedia states that the term is "usually directed at people of Sub-Saharan African descent and suggests that its target is extremely unsophisticated or ignorant." Note the emphasis that I placed on "usually", which clearly means "not always". Before the simple minds of today's generation tapered the definition of the term, the "N"-word was clearly defined as someone who was ignorant. Lexicons in and prior to the nineties defined it as such, in addition to the discriminatory definition with which all of us are familiar.

In conclusion, you are equally as uninformed as Icebaby and, as a result of your ill-informed assumptions and narrow mindset, appear especially ignorant. That is all.

What it usually used for does not count as its origin.

If you read more of the Wikipedia page than what suits your claim, you'll see that it states that the word's origin is a derivitive of 'negro.'

Once again, anyone who believes the N word means "ignorant" does not know what 'ignorant' really means, as it is a hugely common misconception that ignorance is a bad thing.

The origin of a term does not denote its wide range of meanings. If that was the case, then "faggot" could not be defined as a derogatory term, which is the manner in which today's narrow-minded youth generally view it. "Faggot" can be defined as a bundle of sticks, for example, but that does not indicate that it cannot also be utilized as a derogatory term directed at homosexuals.

"Ignorant" also has a range of meanings, but it's generally used to denote a person's lack of knowledge or education. Depending on how you view it, it can be used in an offensive or inoffensive manner. It's all a matter of the user's intent.

Regardless of your unwillingness to concede, your understanding of the N-word (and various other terms) is quite niggardly. That is all.

I do not accept derogative terms as correct - or even acceptable - English, and for the record, neither do lexicographers.

If you take notice, a common word placed near definitions that shows their separation from proper English is slang. The placement of the word clarifies that that particular definition's usage is not accurate, but merely common.

If you honestly accept derogative terms as correct - or even acceptable - English, you are no different from those you deem "simple-minded."
