No. It's a WoW clone in 2013. There was so much potential for an Elder Scrolls MMO. First person view, make your own class, leveling based on skills, emphasis on exploration, you know, like an Elder Scrolls game. They really could have broken the mold and made something truly unique. But no, it's just SWTOR all over again. Other than the setting there is very little Elder Scrolls to this game, based on what we've seen. It's just completely disappointing and I see no reason to be optimistic about it.

Quit blowing a complete non-issue out of proportion, because the result of that FPK doesn't upset me in the least.

Hopefully you can see my point of view here. I just wanted to make sure that my FPK and its results were legit, for all I know people can vote for whatever reason they wish with even if there is bias involved, much like in presidential elections. So my FPK did in no way involve discrimination.

God, I hate cynicism. Loathe it, absolutely loathe it. By far the worst trait any human being can exhibit. There is no cost for optimism; nothing is lost, ever. I see no disappointment in a game I was looking forward to failing, simply because what's their to gain from being disappointed? Nothing. Where as looking forward and looking for the best of something at least gives you a period of happiness. A failed game isn't a death or an injury; it shouldn't bother you. And since we've not got it in our hands, we've no idea how it pan out. It could go to beta and be so screwed up it never sees the light of day and ultimately forces Bethesda into bankruptcy, or they could have something up their sleeve. Or, you could be right, it could be a WOW clone; to which I offer a resounding Breitbart "So?" WOW works, it's one of the most successful games in history and an obvious choice to emulate. I never understood this whole "WOW clone" obsession, mostly because I'm a quester/story guy ( I never played in First Person because I'm no hero. He is). I could go through the same dungeon a million times, but if the story and dialogue is engaging and interesting enough, I don't really give a damn. Also, I rather like the idea of Una-server if they can pull it off. Rather than being upset about similarities take joy in the unique traits of the game. If it's not enough for you to warrant a sub after the first month, than don't. But don't just flatout reject it before it's finished. Don't be a Perkins. coltess Wrote:

Also, I'm going ban a word- I never wanna hear this word directed at me in a conversation.
"Realism"
The word realism has become little more than cloak for cynicism. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say something along the lines of "The whole world is just going to get worse and worse." And I'll respond with "Don't be so cynical!" and 9/10 times I will get this "I'm just being a realist." Well no, you're not. A realist states the facts at hand and admits that X-factors can alter the final result. As such true realists rarely set a single definite outcome.

This is it, this is the Elder Scrolls MMO. It will be ages until we get another one, if we even do. As an Elder Scrolls fan why would I not be disappointed with the mediocrity of it all?

Every major MMO that has tried to copy the WoW formula has flopped and gone free to play. Because like you said, WoW works. We don't need another hotkey based MMORPG. Leave that stuff in the past, it's done. There needs to be innovation, and TESO could have done so much.
I know I'm cynical. But TESO is still going to be just like every other "WoW killer" from the past 8 years. As much as I'd love to be proven wrong.

There aren't many, but DC Universe Online is worth checking out. Free to play. Edit: Actually I think it's only on PS3 and PC. lolxbox

Your FPK? You're not only clearly (and possibly naively) mistaken, but unjustifiably pompous as well. You wouldn't have had a role in the FPK if not for my request that you host the damned thing. I constructed the set of guidelines; you merely posted them. I rallied together the artists that took part; you merely posted their material.
This isn't a presidential election and is in no way similar to one (aside from the fact that votes are cast). In a presidential election, voters are solicited to vote based on their political stances. In an FPK, voters are expected to vote for the most impressive overall piece, which is based on a matter of critical and/or artistic opinion as opposed to predisposed vendettas. Petty personal vendettas have no place in such a competition, seeing as how the voters are obligated to vote for what they deem as the best artistic piece and not the artist who created it.
Whether you're aware of it or not, there are petty vendettas being held by specific users toward other users, and it's quite apparent if you'd do a little research instead of blindly presuming otherwise. I didn't call out the users by name because I don't see a need in promoting absurd and insignificant feuds.
There was no need to bring this into another thread unless you were hoping to rally together a pitchfork-wielding mob of bitter and irrelevant users who hold a varying levels of resentment toward yours truly. I can't say that I know what your angle was, and I can't say with certainty why you decided to publicly declare something so senseless and unfounded, but I can say that it was unnecessary and childish. Keep it private next time, kid.

I played the MoP free trial but didn't even get to level 86. I think I might just be over it. I wish they'd go free to play .-.
Speaking of video games, the South Park RPG might be in trouble. Since THQ went bankrupt, the fate of this game is up in the air. Has it been sold off in auctions, is South Park Studios wanting another company take over? We don't know, but it might not get released this March.
Which is a shame because I really wanted to get my hands on it.

Played Metal Gear Rising demo (again). It reminded me why I will not buy this game. Since I'm much of a old school MGS fan, this is down right horrible. I know they went a different direction, but if I wanted to be some robot guy that can go all slo-mo, I'd just play Vanquish.
Dead Space 3 on the other hand, hell yeah I'm getting that. Co-op with some buds. Sounds like a grand ol time.
