Do guys actually think that treating a girl to dinner or a movie automatically "earns" them a make-out session at the end of the night?

It all depends on the guy though. IMO "Making out" is lame and i dont bother with it. I like to get down to business.

Not at all. In fact I would go so far as to say that the date itself is the "reward" I am looking for. Maybe I am just an old fashioned fool, but I actualy enjoy talking to someone that I am interested in. I try not to jump into the physical aspect of a relationship untill I feel very comfortable with who the person is. Perhaps I am just getting bored and becoming more protective, but I have learned that the longer you romanticize an act the more passion it creates.

My opinion? Not unless they aren't planning on sticking around for more than a few dates.
If a guy is trying for that or anything else that's too forward, they either don't intend to stick around for long, or are trying to "speed up" the process to get what they want and probably plan on being there for the short term.

If a guy is taking you seriously at all interest-wise and respects you at all, he won't try for anything more than a peck on the cheek, a hug, or holding your hand with a look in your eyes and a thank you for joining him for company that evening at the end of the night.

There are a lot of factors to consider mind you, I don't know if you are referring to a first date, a casual friends night out date, or if it's been a lot of dates later either, so I could be assuming too much.

But that's my take on it anyhow, maybe I'm just too old fashioned like 5animals, I dunno.
Seems the guys whom take the time to get to know a girl before they jump all over them are few and far between nowadays.
My friend Mandy has dealt with a lot of guys using her for what they wanted from her and leaving shortly afterwards citing "commitment issues" so it's not an uncommon thing.
It's sad. Just because she's an attractive girl, guys seem to prey on her for it and end up using her when she's got a great sense of humour and personality too. Though those things seem to get ignored. :-/

I don't have to worry about that, since I have never had a girlfriend in my life, & I am not embarassed to admit it.
