There is no more grounds for making alcohol legal than drugs. In other words, if drugs should be illegal, then so should alcohol. I believe people should have the right to do as they please with their own health.
When the prohibition was abolished, it dealt a huge blow to organized crime. It could be done again with the legalization of drugs. There would still be crime, there will always be crime, but lessening it in anyway is always a good thing. It'd be safer for drug addicts too if they could just legally get their fix and not find themselves at the mercy of drug lords.
And I'll admit, that I would just love to see the chaos that would erupt in the conservative family-values types' little world if all drugs were legalized. It would be so beautiful. It sounds hilarious to imagine seeing crack on sale in a pharmaceautical store.
So what do you people think? Yay or nay for drug legalization?

I'm just impressed DG1OA can work a key board with his head completely in his ass. No idea how he eats, don't wanna picture it..
lol
But yeah what the above two said -- weed only. I've only tried it a few times and am not a regular user.
Weed, and maybe marijuana.
Meth and cocacine, no.
Weed and marijuana are one in the same. I've tried my share of drugs and I can tell you that weed is the only one that should be legalized. Alcohol is nice on occasion, but I feel it's very addicting and makes you reckless.
Weed > Alcohol

Naturally, trying something yourself is the best way to learn how dangerous it is, and I would also agree that alcohol is far more dangerous than marijuana.
Now, if something like, say, LSD were to be legalized, I would not be mad. Should it be legalized? Hell no.
STATE FED LIES CHARM EMPTY EYES. Anon.
I've taken acid and i've been drunk (not at the same time), and guess which one made me feel less in control?
Acid is a very powerful psychoactive drug and i wouldn't recommend a lifestyle of it, but a couple of times per lifespan definitely wouldn't hurt.
There's some real crap out there now though, and i think drug education needs to step up and take into account all the 'new' really dangerous shit out there.
But still the issue is about the bizarre double standard that exists for alcohol. I suppose the hypocrisy is the worst part of that law.
And while we're on the subject...
Notice how the trend for Vape-cigarettes has exploded all over the place literally overnight, yet the products used are still wildly unregulated and the effects are as yet unknown? It's very good in one way, that the evil tobacco companies are getting less money from profits, and the government is getting less money from extorting needless taxes, and the people who are smoking less aren't inhaling the nasty known chemicals, but i have a niggling doubt in my mind about the whole thing that makes me uneasy.
I used a few E-cigs as a quitting aid, but then i stopped smoking altogether. There are some who are as enthused about this as the first people who tried smoking, and look what it did for them.

Yea, I feel far more in control when I'm on psychedelics than when I drink too. I've done mushrooms and acid a handful of times each (acid > shrooms, but if you want to try both you should absolutely do shrooms first) and I find that when I'm on either substance I embrace the world with open arms, yet when I'm drunk that's really not the case. Alcohol makes me act like an idiot and I'll oftentimes be more awkward and uneasy with myself. Psychedelics are enlightening to me, and I find that I have a higher level of perception and a different philosophy when I use them. Life kinda just stands still while I enjoy the trip.
Like any "drug," of course, don't overdo it. Moderating yourself and keeping things in perspective are the best ways to enjoy the other side of the fence. I completely agree that drug education needs to improve before we can move forward as a society on the subject.
I'm certain most of the people today who are against drug legalization but okay with alcohol would have been against abolishing the prohibition way back then. The war on drugs is the exact same thing, save of course for what it makes illegal.

You really have given this a lot of thought and credible research haven't you?
What's next? Legalize pedophilia?
I love it when people compare hard drugs to alcohol. Smoke/snort/shoot responsibly?
Fuck off with this mess.
lol at bringing all these old threads alive with BS one-line statements.
Since it's alive since 2014, let's look back at how the USA is on this:
Marijuana is almost legal for medical purposes in a lot of the states.
Smoking marijuana is still illegal in many states even if other uses of marijuana are legal.
You must now be 21 years or older to buy cigarettes in the USA.
Few states, like Nevada and California, have legalized marijuana for recreational purposes. Anyone out of state can buy it, use their state's license to enter and freely purchase it using cash.
Some dispensaries are now accepting debit and credit cards.
Vaping or e-cigs are considered as bad as smoking real cigarettes.
Opiate addiction has now been recognized as a national problem and programs exist to help people combat doctor-prescribed opiate addictions, as that conspiracy has been unveiled.
Heroin/meth are still very common killers throughout the nation.
More people are dying young (under 30) everyday from overdosing.
