Ed Boon was created in the flesh pits by Shang Tsung around the same time that Mileena was made. Boon managed to escape Tsung's control and help Raiden and Earthrealm's greatest warriors, among whom was Jean Claude Van Damme, defeat the evil Emperor Shoa Khan. After saving the world Boon wanted to forget all the pain the fighting had caused him so Raiden allowed Boon to live in Earthrealm with all of his memories becoming simple dreams. Dreams that Boon later thought would make a great video game.
