Favorite (and least favorite) current pop songs

Okay, now I'm sure pop isn't in the musical repertiore of most of the people here. But face it - we are all exposed to it. It's like the weather. Me, I have to suffer through 40+ hours of it every week at work - our radio in the lab is tuned to 97.1 - a pop station here in the DC area.

So given the choice of what is out there (and that it is the only choice - remember this is hypothetical), what pop song would you listen to, and what song would you run a power drill through your eardrums rather than listen to?

My favorite: Michelle Branch w/ Carlos Santana, "The Game of Love"

Least favorite: Josh Brogan, "Raise Me High"

Sorry - I didn't mean to put a value judgement on it. I also made the mistake assuming that everyone here was into heavy metal/punk/hardcore/whatever and innately hated pop. Greenroom, you proved me wrong, and I apologize to you and anyone else I offended.

I use to listen to pop for four hours a day when I was employed. I quit two weeks, and I can't say during any point of time while I was employed that I liked anything I heard on the radio. Sorry.

Josh Brogan?? It's Josh Groban 'You Raise Me Up'. He has such a beautiful voice! And I really wouldn't consider it 'pop' music. Its more 'easy listening' or 'contemporary opera'. Hmm but as for least favorite 'pop' song of the moment it would have to be 'Burn' or 'Yeah' by Usher. They're both old and tired. As for favorite, I'm gonna go with 'Scandalous' by Miss-teq!

i can honestly say that the worst songs of the moment are Frankee (F U Right Back) and Eamon (F*** you, I Don't Want You Back)

over in the UK eamon was number 1 for 5 weeks then straight after frankee was number one for another 3 (thank god for Mario Winans who knocked her off)

I absolutely love Outkasts new song "Roses" and anything by Kanye West

Favorite- I don't think it counts as current, but "everywhere" by Michelle Branch, it's at least tolerable, and apparently she writes her own songs, and plays guitar, which I respect.

Least favorite- Shit, almost everything.

Britney spears is a good singer and as for beyonce. Destiny's child are good but the songs she has written for herself are pretty boring. i was quite dissapointed with her album

Shit, favorite current pop songs? I'm sorry, but I cannot answer this question, because I am more likely to be watching Headbangers Ball and Uranium than TRL. My least favorite pop song? I'll go ahead and say every pop song, because I grew up a metalhead, and I still remain a metalhead today.

I wish music was good like it used to be.Not this watered down crap that comes from people like Nelly,Good Charlotte,and Avril Lavigne.

Yeah,or late night radio.Everything is about money now.It should be about passion.I wish one day I'll wake up and turn on the news and see a whole backlash against the music industry by artists.Then finally we can get the REAL music back in mainstream.MTV knows people hate the music they play and thats a fact.I was watching Good Morning America a few month's ago and a girl who was 15 said she can't stand the current trends in music because they all sound the same.I agree with her.If you listen to old rock and rap songs you can tell everyone had there own sound and motivation.

Britney Spears I will admitt doesn't have the best voice, but Beyonce is nothing more than an overexposed camera hog. She can kinda sing, but I don't find her near as interesting as Britney. Even Christina is better than Beyonce and I don't care much for Christina......but we all have our opinions.

I completely agree with you. I'm not much of a Beyonce fan, I loved Destiny's Child, don't care for her solo.

No way - not that Britney is good - but Beyonce sux. She sells her body in every video, wtf is all that rolling around in the sand? She may look good, and so does ms spears, but neither have any real talent imo.
