Wikipedia doesn't even have the Black Cat character listed in the entry, so the character may not even appear in the film (and with Rhino, Electro, and all the Osborn's already in the movie, that's probably for the best).

Wikipedia is made by fans and this is still very recent news. I know it isn't a confirmation of Black Cat's inclusion, but the addition of Jones to the cast and all the efforts made to keep her identity unrevealed makes most fan wonder WHY they wouldn't want us to know who she will be playing. At first, fans thought she might be Betty Brant but why would they make such a big deal about keeping Brant's addition secret ?

The interviewer asked about the Black Cat and Jones' reply made fans think that for now she might be introduced in TASM2 only as Felicia Hardy, probably so they can gradually blend her into the mix.

Anyway I'm not saying this is a confirmation or whetevr, but this is what most fans believe ... for now.

If Felicia / Black Cat ever makes the cut, I only wish they take their time to develop her character well and do not rush anything.

The pieces definitely all fit together for Black Cat being the role. The trend with "The Amazing... " reboot is to cover the corners that Raimi skipped over. That's both good and bad; I'm glad they're building towards Green Goblin slowly while exploring the rest of the Spiderman universe, but I don't want them to over-invest in the B-grade villains. Black Cat isn't B-Grade, but adapting her seems like a sensitive process. I look at her and think, "it would be easy to mess this up."

By the way, I never got around to responding to your post in the pretty faces thread. Thanks, man. It's good to be back in the General section more these days. I would have responded way earlier, but I kept getting sucked into the Injustice chaos.

I KNOW ! And it kind of scares me too. That's why I believe they should introduce her as Felicia at first. Then develop her issues with her father and have her become the Black Cat in the third movie, she could also have to work for Osborn out of desperation too. I wonder if they will go for the bad luck powers, the super soldier serum version or the super-powered suit version of Black Cat. Anyway I totally agree with you on that this would be easy to me up.
