Keep it legal, no discussion about roms, copyrighted music, or anything of that nature, but which do you prefer?
I used to prefer P2P Programs such as WinMX, but I recently discovered torrents and WOW is about all I can say about that.

BitTorrent sucks, it's too damn slow.
(Don't try and tell me I need to disable a firewall, because I've not used a firewall in well over 6 years. On top of that, my PC is set in a DMZ in my router's settings.)
WinMX used to be great back in the day, I remember downloading my first GigaByte file off it.
Ahh, those were the days.
Nowadays, there are no great P2P programs.
Although SoulSeek is very well for small things such as MP3's..
The best solution for downloading anything at all, has become IRC.

I'm aware that they are still P2P, but the mechanism is different. I'm just splitting it up into two categories.
Oh, and ShingoEX, I've tried asking you this in 2 other threads, but I guess you just quit viewing them. You seen the Closer trailer yet??.....woohoo!!

You're missing out.
HERE
Anyway, to stay on subject, I used to use WinMX all of the time, but You just get too much crap on there, and the search just isn't specific enough for me.

Kazaalite++ is the only way to go.
WinMX has nothing, it's just a diet kazaa with HIV. Bit Torrent is the worst of the worst of the most vile and wretched the web can possibly offer. Bit Torrent's slowness has ruined my life forever. I would have much better luck opening my window and shouting random binary codes to get my files.

hmmm...funny you all have problems with bittorrent. It runs fine with me, and i'm behind a proxy server.
for bittorrent to download at good speeds u need to find the right site to get them from...i, like the thread starter have found great sites w/ tons of people who share....
winmx had its moment for about 6 month's.. it's no good now..
EMULE is the way to go now.. best program, user friendly.. if u need to find movies or tv shows, this is the program to use.. also there r tons of web sites that u can search, on top of their search.. the web sites that link to the program is awesome, because u can get a file in a "waiting" status w/ o any 1 being online.it'll start up as soon as they sign on to emule.(sorry if this is confusing) lol

I have no speed problems on BitTorrent, therefore I have no problem saying that P2P networking is rubbish and I'll never go back to it again

Hm. I run at a steady 50KB/S - 65KB/S on BT
At this very moment it's running 53KB/S.

What in the world are you downloading from Bit Torrent to get those speeds man? Even if I go for extremely common, popular MP3's it still takes all day.

Nip/Tuck S2E13
335 MB File
13 Peers 26 Seeds
And A little tip. Set your upload speed as high as you can. I'm on DSL and I've set mine to T3+ with the sliders all the way to the right. It just runs better that way. I'm uploading at 66KB/S

Not to start on an 8 day rant, but, torrents run through p2p programs. It's like saying floppies vs. removable media.

I'm aware of that, but if you read my above post, I clarified. I merely meant, the generally known P2P's such as Kazaa and WinMX vs. Torrent Specific Programs like BitTornado.
Using a clearly labeled torrent file to download large amounts of data is different than trying to search for a zip file that may not contain what your looking for.
