We know very little about either. A lot of fans were disappointed in XIII (myself included), and after that disappointment their hopes have gone to Versus XIII. But XIII-2 promises to "fix" the mistakes of the first game.

Frankly, I'd need to hear more about the games before I'd make a decision. The trailers for Versus XIII look very lifelike but also mundane and boring (where's the "fantasy" part?) while XIII-2 is a sequel to one of my least favorite FF games.

So, pick your poison, I guess. Versus XIII is AT LEAST a year and a half away, while XIII-2 is promised to come out next holiday season.

i didnt play 13 but not because of what people have said about it i just didnt like the battle system.. it was kool that it wasnt like the old ones or like a pokemon game with random encounters not that i dont favor it that way but the way u had control over your characters wasnt interesting to me..if you liked it that way then hey to each their own speaking generally..the graphics do look amazing cant say anything for the story but the characters look kool as well..i am really craving for a new final fantasy game although i really only played one and a portion of another but fell in love with it. Since 13-2 is the closest than i will follow that and hopefully it will do what people were disappointed of its predecessor.

FF13 was ok if you ask me. Certainly better than the attrocity that is FF12 (though you couldnt really get any worse) and also others like FF8. Other games I was playing at the time (namely Star Ocean The Last Hope) outshone FF13 for me. I cant say that about some of the other FF games

I will probably give 13-2 a look up nearer the time, dont know taht much about it. Know pretty much nothing about Versus.

In all honesty though, Id be mroe pleased if they released The Complete Collection of Final Fantasy (Original and The After Years) on PSP outside of Japan lol.

I will probably be buying XIII-2. I enjoyed FFXIII and am interested to see if they can improve upon it. However, I worry about both the storyline and the battle system. Party AI must improve and they also must adjust the difficulty curve dramatically.

is the battle system going to change in 13-2

The only thing I liked about FFXIII was Lightning. That's pretty much it. I don't know enough about either of these new games to make a decision. That said if it's anything like XIII I will probably not pick either up.

Disregard anything after 9. Not worth it.

I'm done until we get 8-2.
