I've been waiting FOREVER for Soul Calibur V!

Bring on the new characters, baby! And Voldo, of course.

I saw this months ago when Harada Tekken was showing pics from their meeting.

I saw this already. SC is one of my favorite fightng game series, and I'm mad hype for this!

All I want is:Ivy, Voldo, Nightmare and Charade.

I hope maxi is in he is my favorite

lol, this isn't Mortal Kombat, they don't leave characters out (aside from clones).

I saw this on twitter on Xmas day and I just though "Its like Japan gave me a present!"

Stupidly happy now. Especially with all the rumours that they had actually ended the series.

You are right about that, and that's one of the things I love so much about Soul Calibur.

The roster is ever growing, and at a well sped pace, as so not to create an overflow of characters.

So far, the largest roster in a Soul Calibur game is 26, excluding bonus and exclusive characters.

What bothers me, though, is that with every Soul Calibur game, the amount of newly introduced characters gets smaller and smaller. Check this out:

I really hope Project Soul creates at least three new starting characters. I also would like to see Ashlotte and Dampierre return as official characters. That would so kick ass.

Good news, but I really wouldn't expect the game for quit a while. The tekken X Street fighter cross over isn't expected to be out until well after MvC3 Namco said, and I wouldn't expect a new SC until well after the TxSF games come out.

@ Riyako you say that but while you are correct remember that:

Soul Calibur 2 had 3 different guest characters
Soul Calibur 3 had a few extra CAS move sets
Soul Calibur 4 had 3 guest characters (ignoring the anime clones)
And Broken Destiny had Kratos and Dampierre.

So its not like they have been slacking on new movesets even if they cant be arsed to make full blown characters.

Hoping for the Broken Destiny roster plus Li Long and Hwang from SC3: Arcade Edtion.

Take away the boss characters, the bonus characters (that were mostly from SC 3), & the guest characters, & this is what you're left with. All I want is most of that cast to return, with about 3 or 4 new characters, & no more guest or bonus characters. And Dampierre is an official SC character.

I'll see your list (well made, btw), and edit it out and show you what I'd like to see in SC5.

I agree with you. This list could definitely work with SC 5. We've already had enough with the bonus characters & guest characters from Soul Calibur 2-4 & with Broken Destiny with Kratos being in that version. I'm sure that Namco Bandai could have another Soul Calibur game without guest characters. They sure didn't have it in their Tekken games (except for Gon in the PS1 version of Tekken 3). Capcom didn't have any of the guest characters in the SF IV series. I can go on & on.

By the way, the list of the characters that I listed were done after doing some research of characters that appeared in Soul Edge/Soul Blade & from Soul Calibur 1-4 & BD while not counting bosses, bonus, or guest characters, just to let you know there. :P

I must say, though, Soul Calibur Broken Destiny has the best of all rosters, even with Kratos.

In all honesty, if Kratos became an official SC character, it wouldn't bother me. He fits in just fine, especially since Ares so happens to be Astaroth's master (but yeah, Ares was killed by Kratos, but that could work well, too).

In any case, as long as they throw in some newbies, I'm good.

And PLEASE let Ashlotte return! PLEASE!

Kratos has a relevance to all other Soul Calibur characters that adhere to Greek mythology, which includes Sophitia, Lizardman, Cassandra, Astaroth, and Ashlotte.

His existance, being a god slayer and all, can interfere with the whereabouts of the others.

And Ashlotte is freakin' badass, man, especially her costume.

I kinda liked Ashlotte. And I liked Shura. But I can't see either of them making it. Due to the whole designed by an anime/manga creator thing.

Dampierre is in. Mostly because he is kinda like Dan but high mid teir I heard.

Just want a sai character and a hooksword character. Maybe a dual wielding katana character. (Lol Shura)

Li Long in SC3 Arcade was awesome. He had a whole "back stance" thing and did duel wieling nunchucks at times. Want him in.

And I hope the last game was the end of the whole Nighty Vs Siggy yaoi masturbation fest. And the end of the whole Rapheal and Amy are vampires now. Because that just made no sense.

I want the story mode to be as good as the traliers made it out to be.

Excellent! I've been hoping for an announcement on SC5 for ages! I can't wait to get to play as Taki, Ivy and Kilik once again! I really should get SC4 in the meantime now I've got a 360 and play that to pass the time.

I love Soulcalibur. It's Soulcalibur now right, not Soul Calibur, haha?

I thought Soulcalibur IV was perfect. I really can't see any way that they can improve the game. That's why I'm not dying for a sequel.

But then again, I once said that about Soul Calibur II.

I hope aswell as many others sre hoping aswell, they make the create a character as extensive as the one in sc3 or more.
The one in sc4 was lacking in layers, faces, facial hair and other stuff, but it had beautiful details.
