I think that would be nice, but I don't think it would be possible, at least for me. I've never had a girlfriend, and to my knowledge there has only been one girl that has said she actually "liked" me (although a couple girls-well, one of them I shouldn't call a "girl," as she was at least 30- have said I was cute), I think I'd get too attached. The thing is, hugging and kissing, in the sense you described, is symbolic of romantic love, which is well beyond the boundaries of a friend.

I think they're good to have...as long as both people know it's nothing serious. Another thing I'd like to add is that while it is "a fun time", sometimes it's nothing more than a quick fix for those who REALLY want a serious relationship but (for whatever reason) can't have that.

Who knows, maybe this "friend" could eventually turn out to be gf/bf material. One of the girls I hook up with from time to time is pretty sweet, she's pretty and has a GREAT body. The only problem is that she's a bit...unstable. Her mood swings worry me a lot sometimes, and it makes me think: If the intense fights that occur are happening when we're just FRIENDS, I do NOT wanna know what it would be like if we were a couple.

Welp, for me, personally, if I tried to kiss/hug/hit the sheets with someone whom I didn't really feel deeply for, I don't think I'd get much out of it overall. In fact, doing something like that with someone I consider to be only a friend may even make me sick.

I’m not really interested in that type of relationship myself but if others wanna engage in that sort of thing so be it. ive had a few of those, its fun to have another girl you can "do" or fuck around with and not have any attachments to, but someone (and when i say someone i mean "she") always winds up catching feelings and it gets ugly and then not only did you lose a friend but a reliable piece of ass, once i hit 19, i said forget it, so friends with benefits is a pain in the ass, and the end result is someone is gonna get hurt feelings so just leave that shit alone unless you plan to do it differently from how i do it, in that case... ah well

That's a pretty stereotypical view of the male psyche. Personally, I know I'd get pretty attached to any girl who would have sex with me, but I guess that's because I have fairly low self-esteem, and haven't known many girls that would have been likely to have wanted to have sex with me.
