Why We Picked It: It doesn't take much brain power to realize that Ninja Gaiden is one of the coolest games to ever grace a console. With amazing, intuitive control, the near-nonstop combat never seems to grow old throughout the whopping 20 hours of gameplay. As Ryu Hayabusa, gamers enjoyed the best realization of a 2D side-scroller to 3D-actioner ever. Sorry, Prince of Persia! What's perhaps more impressive than the combat system is some of the cool platforming elements that presents itself in the later stages of the game. Run from a giant boulder a la Indy Jones, dash across walls, and run on water -- yeah, this baby has it all.
The goodness doesn't end at the gameplay, however. Ninja Gaiden is a gorgeous game, one of the best-looking on Xbox to date, and sports a silly amount of particles as Ryu slices enemies in two. Decapitations have never looked so good. And don't get us started on the eye-bulging cinematics, which surpass anything we've seen before. This is a visual jewel to be treasured forever (or until something even prettier comes out). Add an interesting Master Ninja Tournament for Xbox Live and you've got a complete package. Heck, you know it's good if, after 20 hours, you can't wait to play through the game a second time. Now that's quality.

It's probably very good NG, but, personally, Im really sick of the whole Devil May Cry genre, beat up freaks with super combos and powers. Today i really look out for realism and leave fantasy on the side. Really, Ive seen it all in games. I want something new, something refreshing, what hasn't been done before. SC:PT is just this. Sooner or later i am going to get NG though. GG, both of them.
SC: PT's been done just as many times as the "DMC genre" has.
But Ninja Gaiden doesn't deserve to be compared to DMC becase a) it doesn't play very much like DMC and b) it's far superior to DMC. It's also far superior to PT in my opinion.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: NG is one of the most satisfying games I've ever played. It's gorgeous to look at (sometimes I'll just stop and look around in first-person mode and look at the amount detail they were able to render, I don't know how many times I've said to myself something like "Ooooh, look at that"), challenging, somewhat addicting, overall engaging.

Ng is crazy!!!
ITs really fun and challenging but has that coolness to it by running up wallz and things like that.
DMC/NG cannot be compared as someone already pointed out cuz NG is superior than DMC by all wayz so yeah.
I havent played or even seen screens of Sc:PT mainly cuz its not in my interest. MGS is more of my tactical espionage game.

That's right, there are more. But they are weak when it comes to stealth. SC is the best stealth oriented game in the world. Not only that, it's the first game which has the MP it has. You don't compare MGS with SC and stealth. MGS is a noob when you compare it with SC in the field of stealth. Then again SC is a noob when you compare it with the action of MGS.

Well besides SC, there's MGS, Tenchu, Manhunt (although very poorly-done in the latter), and there's also other games it's being implemented into, like Starcraft: Ghost. As for the "DMC genre," though, it's only been done in DMC and NG, and they really don't play very much like each other.

there are more, you got ZOE2, Shinobi. There's another one where you can transform into beasts, forgot the name. You got Blade Warrios or something it has 3 parts. And alot more. But actually when i look at it, NG is the best so far in it's genre, and so is Pandora tomorrow. So really it's taste. You want hardcore action or sneaky stealth. Like i said in my first post, both are GG.
MGS and Tenchu are not simulations like Splinter Cell is.
It's like comparing Mario Kart to Gran Turismo, or After Burner to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Sure, they're essentially in the same genre (racing and flying) but it's foolish to compare them since they are radically different.
The DMC-type gameplay has been done in many games, such as Berserk, Castlevania LOI, Rygar, etc...
