Laugh all you want, but in PC World a satisfaction level was presented with the major PC makers, and Emachines jumped waaaay up the list, with HP+Compaq dragging at the bottom.

Apparently Emachines isn't quite what it used to be which is a good thing. Personally though I am still a little miffed at Gateway and Dell for dismissing AMD all the time, but at least Dell keeps looking at them now and then.

Emachine computers would not be so bad if not for their tendancy to integrate parts and use to many proprietary components. Not that that's not true of Gateway, Dell, HP, Apple, etc.
