Actually, it's a front light. A backlight would be an incredible power drain; that's one of the things that made handhelds like the Game Gear and the Nomad so unpopular compared to the Game Boy line. Still, the front light is a blessing to anyone using it. It'd be worth the extra cost of the SP just for the front light.

I know that GBA SP is teh l33t, but I feel sorry for those who bought the normal GBA before the GBA SP came out. =P

the same as it is on the GBA. just... if you want headphones, you need some special connector.

Oh, and the next time you can take an emulator with you that plays GBA games and fits in your pocket AT THAT PRICE, then I'll agree. Don't tell me you can show me a PocketPC that can run GBA games at full speed for $99 - we all know that's impossible.
