Getting Vaccinated, What Are Your Thoughts
So I thought this would be an interesting topic to bring up since it's been floating around a lot of my friends on Facebook who are about to deliver kids, or just in general.
I am for vaccinations. No doubt about it. I don't get why people think it's not a crucial thing to get in our lives. And to prove that this is something to take seriously, a case of whooping cough in Manhattan broke out where eight, non-vaccinated children were the cause of it. People claim that getting children vaccinated leads to autism or other serious medical issues like that, but I have yet to see any scientific proof that says otherwise. Granted that our generation, autism has grown wider, but it's certainly not because children are getting vaccinated.
I don't care for anyone's scientific beliefs, and I'm not trying to be offensive on purpose, but it's pretty low for anyone not to get vaccinated, especially since a disease that we thought was wiped out, has come back in our lives. I know that seems touchy, but knowing that people out there tend to connect autism to vaccinations is downright ridiculous when you got nothing that showcases it. This kind of case is something I don't think I would be persuaded to change my mind about if anyone were to fight against it. So, just thought I'd give you a heads up for anyone who cares to try to protest this post, or anyone who shares the same way.
So yeah, there's my stance on it, how about yours?

If anything, I think the only reason Autism-spectrum disorders SEEM more common is because as time goes on, we get better at diagnosing mental problems than we used to be. It's not that there's more people who have it, it's that there's more people who KNOW they have it.
I've never seen any evidence that vaccinations have anything to do with it and I think it's irresponsible for parents to deny their children treatment for potential future diseases out of paranoia and misinformation.

I'm a father and my wife and I are keen on vaccinations. Too risky to not get them done and I haven't seen nearly enough evidence to convince me that they cause autism or other disorders.
I'm for most vaccinations- as a Catholic I have a moral issue with vaccines being developed through tests involving the tissue of aborted fetuses, however this is rather rare; the only one I know of is for Rubella. Other than that, I say protect the children!
I was actually born before they scientifically determined that the link between vaccinations and autism was total shit, so I was not vaccinated as a child. I never got sick, but now that science has pretty much proven their is no link between mental disabilities and vaccinations, I would definitely vaccinate my children.

I've never believed in this myth myself. If this was the case, autism would be 100X more common IMO.
There was a new study/article I seen recently that actually suggest that autism is actually linked to Tylenol use during pregnancy.
I think as long as a vaccine is proven safe, we should treat kids with it.

Never got shots when I was little. Won't give shots to my kids when and if I have them. Oh yeah.
You are what you eat. This is a fact. That is how we maintain our health by what we put in our bodies. Why are Americans the most overweight, most unhealthy, diseases people of the civilized community in the world, because of our food supply. How many of you read the ingredients on the food you purchase to feed yourself and/or your family. What about your shampoo or toothpaste? Do you guys read the ingredients on that stuff. Or sunscreen? You'll probably get skin cancer from letting toxic chemical ridden sunscreen absorb into your skin before you get it from the sun. The sun is good for us, it's the best way for us to get vitamin D, why do you think we all get colds in the winter? Because we're deficient in vitamin D. Back to the food supply, our country has the worst, most toxic food supply, first of all there is there terrible company Monsanto, that is in bed with the government and that is where the lovely GMO good comes from, not to mention our country consumes the most processed food, most of the additives and chemical ingredients in our food, is illegal in the rest of the world.
Just read the ingredients list on everything.
wdm6789 made a point, nutrition has a big impact. Also I would say that smoking damages your body harder than vaccination does. I'm not anti-vaccination myself but I'm definitely not for the 'blindfolded' flu hysterics.

There has been no credible scientific evidence presented that show vaccinations cause autism or cause damage in anything but miniscule numbers. Full stop. In fact, people not vaccinating has done more damage by causing outbreaks of diseases once under control like pertussis and measles.
Just remember: the current anti-vaccination trend was caused by someone who was found to have falsified his research, was proven to have a financial stake in proving current vaccines dangerous, and lost his license to practice medicine as a result. He twice sued the reporter who made his malfeasance known for libel, and lost badly both times.

Body Count
Herd Immunity
Whooping Cough Outbreak
Measles
Mumps is even in the news now.

I'm for vaccinations, as I said before, but I never caught any of the childhood diseases. I think it probably comes from living in a rural environment with little contact, but I never had the chickenpox, the mumps, the measles, pertussis, scarlet fever, pinkeye, I didn't even have lice.
Just sort of musing.
Just sort of musing.

I had chickenpox... and sadly lice. (There was a huge outbreak when I was in elementary school, and I was one of the unfortunate during first grade). But anything else, I never caught.
In fact, I even caught the chickenpox when I was with my mom at the same school during a PTA meeting.
I'm starting to think it was the school's fault.
What comes to vaccinating your offspring, it is crucial to know that the child inherits a lot of the positive stuff from the mother, e.g. 80% of intelligence. Even if you (male) endure sicknesses at ease, your future beloved one may not. You can't predict the future diseases that'll run rampant nor the immune system of your child. It is true though that vaccination isn't always given: If you never got sick and you were offered H1N1 vaccination, it is not wrong if you refused to take it. (The pig flu vaccination caused insomnia.)
