For me it's more whats in the mind of Lector and might explain why he does the things he does. It wasn't what i expected but i think it's done very well visually with the effects and emotions from the cast. I'm going to continue watching the show.

I'm sure Lector called the guy who killed his family because he wanted to throw off the inspector of his trail. Also when they were eating was that a finger in the food.
