Just got back from seeing it. It was great! The battle at the end was pretty awesome. Reminded me of Star Wars. So who else has seen it? Thoughts?
My only complaint... I wished they extended the Bellatrix and Mrs. Wiesley fight a bit longer than what they showed.
Even though I have never touched a single Harry Potter book in my life, I can only say that it was a wonderful series nonetheless and appreciated it.
And that it's the only movie basically where the entire theater is silent and no one is talking.. Just tearing up. It was a depressing movie though, I'm not going to lie. I didn't cry, I teared up then said something funny to my boyfriend when the moment was coming up.
But god what the hell happened to Neville? When did he look charming? Omigosh haha!! I liked him in this more than anything.
That, and I wish they kinda made Ginny and Hermoine look a bit more older than what they appeared when they were showing them all 19 years later.
I wouldn't mind having a huge Harry Potter movie marathon soon... when that movie comes out that is.

I totally agree on the battle between Molly Weasley and Bellatrix Lestrange.
That was the main reason I went to see that movie. I waited ten years to see that old woman in action, and it only lasted for ten seconds!
In any case, the movie was really sad. I teared up three times and cried once.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Seeing Lupin and Tonks on the floor dead together broke my heart. I couldn't help but shed a tear for them. That, for me, was the saddest part of the entire film.

Another sad session for me was Snape, After ten years of watching these films, seeing him show emotion was a big thing for me.

I gasped repeatedly as the snake continued to attack him, and the moment he began to cry, I almost started to myself. And then the flashbacks, watching him scream and cry with Lily in his arms. I admit, that worked up some tears for me, too.

Of all, it really pained me that all but two of my favorite characters had died in this film.

My favorite part of the movie was the part where one guy blows through the window only to get stopped in his tracks with a hilarious look on his face then he gets blown right out of it again.

I'm sure it is a brief one. They went in there to acquire something important.
Not gonna tell ya exactly what, because of spoilers. I haven't seen the Deathly Hallows part 2, but I've read all 7 books.

I suggest those who haven't seen the movie yet, go watch the first Deathly Hallows... I was told that some people who haven't seen that movie in a while kinda got lost during the beginning.
It helps to know what happened before hand to know what's going on.

Haha. This is great.
I'm fucking pissed off at this movie...
I loved almost everything before the end. Those final moments almost ruined the movie for me.
The final battles/fights (Harry VS Voldermort, Molly VS Bellatrix, etc) were fucking ruined, imo.
They were ruined in favor of cheap unnecessary entertainment.
They should have been faithful to the way it was in the books. The whole school witnessing the battles (Luna, Hermione, Ginny VS Bellatrix and McGonogall, Slughorn, and Flitwik VS Voldi, where did this go?), everyone surrounding Molly and Bellatrix and Harry and Voldi...
I'm still upset about the way all of it was changed in favor of a ridiculous Harry VS Voldi chase game. Where the fuck is that awesome tense moment when Harry comes back, scares the sh*t out of Voldemort, and circles him around like a snake before the final showdown?????
And WHAT THE FUCK was that bullshit Neville was talking about? And Harry sprinting down from Hagrid like that? Seriously?????????????????
I rolled my eyes at Neville's speech. So fucking annoying.
The way the crowed reacted regarding Harry's death and Voldemorts request for SILENCE was perfect and inspiring in the book...but, here, it was limited to a typical "Hollywood" moment that really did make me angry and roll my eyes.
Such bullshit.
Aside from the annoying final battles, the poor little attention and complete lack of emotions from certain characters in many significant and crucial scenes, plus the fact that some stuff they changed unnecessarily just fucking sucked (breaking the elder wand), it was a great movie.
As a super fan, I was disappointed with the end.
hell, it didn't even feel like they had just won the worlds most important battle. Everyone was just.....lacking so much emotion during the end.
Ugh.

I agree- there were certain emotional turning points that were heart-wrenching in the book, but little screen time was devoted to them in the movie. Perhaps they could've cut out some of the aimless wandering in the first movie and given more time to let certain events in the second movie sink in. Perhaps, though, it was intentional because everything was chaotic and no one had time for grieving at that moment.

I was disappointed that Fred's death was given such little screen time, as was Harry's preparation for his own death. The expression on Hagrid's face when he thought Harry was dead almost made me cry.
